Selling this 1984 Volkswagen Westfalia with the Vanaru Subaru 2.5 liter Imprezza conversion. It was a authorized repair facility conversion, not a backyard job. Google Vanaru and you will see for yourself that this conversion was completed with the upmost care and quality with no expenses spared. The motor alone is $13,000 on their website. They only use low mileage 30k or less Subaru motors. Then, they will ship it off to the repair faciltiy of your choice. The transmission was also reprogrammed to handle the additional torque from the motor. It purrs at idle and output is 170 horsepower. Almost double the factory waterboxer motor. It is finished in springtime yellow and is ready for all your camping needs. It will pull hard in all four gears. Hell, it will even pull in reverse if you need it to. It has been treated with a three window pop top and the paint is nice and shiny. I would call it a five footer. It runs great, shifts great and climbs hills with ease. If you have been looking for a camper that will not leave you stranded in the slow lane, your search is over. It also has 15 inch GoWesty alloys with good tread on all four tires. Selling this oldie but goodie for NO RESERVE. Yes, final bid gets to take her home. There is a buy it now option. Thank you for all your questions. I will answer them here. The paint, is not "show quality", that is why I refer to it as a "five footer". From five feet away, the paint is shiny and nice. Upon close inspection, you will notice paint imperfections. This is how I received the Westy. It shines and glistens. It will not embarrass you at the camp site. As a matter of fact, when I drove it the other day, quite a few people commented on how nice it looked. The motor has around 45k on it. The chassis, 219k. That is why I posted a photo of the odometer. All the camping equipment works good. The tread on the tires are all good. It runs good and yes, the Subaru conversion was a professional installation with the transmission being reprogrammed too. Please feel free to ask any additional questions you may have.
