This Vanagon is a 1989 Syncro, with a Westfalia pop-top added by a previous owner. John built a custom full camper interior, with cabinetry that can be removed to easily convert the Vanagon into a 7-passenger van or cargo hauler. The camping equpiment is a significant upgrade over the Westfalia equipment: 20 gallons of water storage compared to 13, built-in but easily removable propane stove for use inside or outside, 2 large auxiliary batteries compared to one small one, a cabinet with porta-potti toilet, a larger bed, more storage area, a larger and more efficient refrigerator, comprehensive LED interior lighting instead of sparse incandescent fixtures, better window coverings (folding pull-up shades in valence enclosures instead of loose curtains), lots of storage drawers and pockets, better fit and finish, higher quality headliner and cabinet surfaces.
This vanagon also has a new professionally installed engine upgrade -- a California-legalrebuilt 1.8 liter turbocharged Jetta engine installed byStephan's Auto Haus. It also haslarger Audi front disc brakes; after-market rear bumper with integral step and receiver hitch; upgraded headlights; large pull-out Fiamma awning over the side door; high-end 16" wheels and tires (stock are 14"), and a heavy-duty rear-mount spare tire rack; and upgraded suspension and 4-wheel drive system components.
We are asking $55,000. This van is in the northern East Bay area of the San Francisco Bay Area in California. Pleasecontact usif you'd like to come take a look.
