2001 VW Jetta Wagon with VR6 engine DIY Fixer Upper
2001 Volkswagen Jetta Description
This Jetta has the last of the Hot Rod engines VW put in their cars. This motor will spin the front tires on dry pavement.. I recently bought this car as a fixer upper for myself. I have suffered some pretty severe health issues and my DR. wants me to give up all my side stuff. I been doing these cars since 1982. The car is in relatively descent shape on the outside. I little rust on the back end. I got a bit started on that by grinding it out and filling the voids up with waterproofing foam. The tires are in good condition. We did the engine work. All it needed was a new radiator and some vacuum lines and a small tune up. I put in a new $125 battery. The interior is black leather in extremely good shape. It says it has a lot of miles on it. We think the engine has been rebuilt because it has so much power. We just about had it done and someone worked on it and accidentally or on purpose caused a problem. There is a problem in the area of the starter, the likes I have never heard before. A rather loud clanging maybe in the bell housing thst would run OK but then it stopped running. We can change gears and push in neutral but not the engine. It wont go. We took the starter off but could not see anything wrong there. We did in our travels find a couple of these type engines in the donation junk yards. You will have to trailer it out.
