1971 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Super Beetle Description

I recently had the engine rebuilt (less than 1000 miles on it) and it was bored out to accommodate 90.5 piston/cylinders, making this a 1776. The mechanic also used barrel spacers to drop the compression to about 8.3:1 for use on regular pump gasoline.
Some prior owner has swapped out the original stereo for one with a CD player. I have honestly never bothered to try it, so assume it does not. If you wantthat, then it is a bonus if it works! The floor pans seem good, but there has been some welding underneath. Between the sound proof layer inside, and the heavy undercoat outside, it's hard to assess their condition, other than that they seem solid when you stomp or pound on them.

Certainly a candiate for complete restoration, or address the tires and brakes and just drive it.
Beetle prices have been going up and up and harder and harder to find nice cars that aren't a fortune.
The strut towers are clean and shows no signs of significant accidents as seen in pics. All in all, a great unmodified example.
It will need the basics (tires, cosmetics etc) Look around at engine prices these days and compare

All of the fixed windows (rear, front, rear sides) have new rubber gaskets. Beetle does have a basically new Tow Bar.

I am not the original owner. I bought it from a man who has made his living as a VW bug/beetle mechanic up in Virginia for his entire life. I don't know how many prior owners it has had. I have a clean and clear North Carolinatitle in my name.

I have enjoyed it, but I'm having a toy clearance. Too many hobbies, not enough time or money.

PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING/BUYING!!!! I will try to be extremely responsive to queries!

NOTE: This car is in CHARLOTTE, NC. THE Giant AUTOFAIR is this coming weekend. You may be coming, someone you know may be coming, or there may be great Uship deals to be had with all of the vehicles that will be going to new owners this weekend. Just a heads up!
