2008 GTI New Timing Belt and WP
2008 Volkswagen Golf GTI Description
**New timing belt and water pump installed at about 96000 miles (as per recommended service), quoted at a shop more than $1500 just for the belt!** Be wary of the same models for sale at similar miles that have not had these two things done.
Hello, my name is Matt and the time to sell my dream car has come. I hate to see it go but I had to buy a work truck instead. I've owned this car for something like 3 years and it has been nothing but a winner. Averaged about ~27.5 mpg since I got it. Truly a must see in person. Near Indiana State University campus. Miles may be slightly higher as I still drive it a little here and there.

I have not modded this car at all during my ownership. As far as I know this car has been garaged all winters except the most recent one and even then it was parked until roads were cleared so it has minimal salt exposure at worst. I have most receipts for work done on it in hand and the title in hand as well. The front license plate is zip tied to the grill so it can be easily removed if your state does not require a front plate, IL does so I had to put it on there. I trust this car to go anywhere anytime; it has never let me down and completed a 1500 mile round trip to Minnesota with no troubles at all this spring. I used it as a daily driver, not a racer. I worked three jobs for a year to earn enough to buy it, so rest assured that it was not abused; the previous owner was a responsible adult as well. If sport mode is what you're after, it will throw you back in your seat for sure if that's what you're looking for. The exhaust has a very satisfying note when revved up, but as for normal driving this thing is not obnoxious. I put four new all season tires on it last fall because I couldn't find a garage for it while I attended university.
Note: The driver front wheel (pictured) has a bend in the rim. I must have hit a pot hole with it and not noticed the damage till a couple hundred miles later. I decided to sell it as is because the paint on all four rims would be worth a re-paint and I wanted to leave it up to the buyer what to do about it. It drives just fine as is and the pressure has not changed. I kick myself because I accidentally rashed about half of the front passenger rim on a curb several weeks ago. Some of the interior LED's seem flicker-y as if loose (have not looked into it). The only light on the dash is for a fog light out, but if you tap on the lens of the light it turns right back on, whether it be a loose connection or something I do not know. There is a tiny chip in the windshield that's been there since I got it, and it's hardly noticeable. Normal wear and tear. Seats good, waxed and deep cleaned roughly monthly since I got it until last September, then as much as I could when I could get access. I do not currently have access so it needs cleaned up. The front end is chipped up but with the miles that's expected. I've put 93 octane fuel in it since I got it and run it with the 93 program. It can be changed to stock, 91, 93, or 100 octane programs easily (original APR instructions provided). Nothing mechanically wrong with it, DSG trans shifts perfectly.
ALSO included in asking price is the four summer tires that were on the car when I got it, original interior trim, original mirror covers, noise pipe, and a pint of unopened PB5 paint. There is also a box with some various pieces and parts that came with the car when I got it. Also for sale locally, for more information or a showing, text(preferred) or call: 3095408607. I'm usually pretty busy and work strange hours so please allow some time for a response. Thank you for looking!
