1993 Volvo 240 Description

Up for sale is a 1993 Volvo 240 DL, Mileage approx. 190k, $3,200.I purchased the car in the spring of 2013 from a guy in south Florida where the car spent the first twenty years of its life.Since I’ve owned it the car has been in Chattanooga, TN and has seen very minimal winter conditions.I have the original sales information and an abundance of service records from previous owners and myself.The car has practically no rust and has been kept in my garage and driven on and off for the last three years.Non-smoking car.The odometer has 118,000 but the odometer has not worked since 2005 (according to records).My estimate is approx. 190-200k miles.The motor is strong, no smoke, no overheating, transmission feels good, shifts normal.

The car has been kept very clean with seat covers and dash cover which come with the sale.The seats, carpet, and interior in general are very clean.The carpet, floor mats, etc. do show their age but overall the car is very clean and in fantastic shape.The paint has just the right about amount of patina to make it interesting but overall the paint looks really good.The suspension is a little clunky but what 240 isn’t at this point.

In the fall of 2013 the car was overheating and I found the head gasket was blown.I did all the work myself for the repair with receipts to prove it with OEM parts, including the following: rebuilt head, head gasket, head bolts, water pump, timing belt, heater hoses, radiator hoses, all new accessory belts, spark plugs, exhaust header gaskets, and generally cleaned every component removed/reinstalled.

In the summer of 2014 I replaced the following components: power amplifier, fuel pump relay, main fuel pump and filter, in-tank fuel pump & strainer and other miscellaneous items.

Flaws include a few areas of the paint where fading has occurred, I think it shows character, the molding around the back passenger bumper (corner) is broken, a few of the interior plastic areas are brittle and cracked, especially around the center console, but nothing major.
