Very well kept, 1989 Volvo 240 wagon, garage kept for last 14 years. Car has always been tuned, oil changed, any required maintenance was performed. AC works well, engine and trans works as it should. Tires are very nice. New radiator this summer, as original developed a small leak at bottom. Hood and roof were repainted to original 5 years ago, as clear coat was coming off as these models all do, rest of vehicle is completely original paint and body. Exceptionally nice original paint on vehicle has been given very timely attention, look closely, hard to find such nice original paint on a 27 year old Volvo. All door, side and rear glass has no issues.
Rear hatchwas hit(see pictures) from rear in 2002, The rear bumper was cracked and I replaced with another original bumper, and hatch has dent as shown in pictures, this resulted in car was total loss, but I bought it back from Insurance company and replaced bumper. Not sure why they totaled it, but we have been driving it ever since. I have an extra rear door included with car that just needs repaint to match car color. Probably the cost of a new hatch and bumper. Existing rear door closes and works as it should, so I never put new door on. This is why NC title shows a salvage title
Front seats have small cracks in original coverings, see pictures. I also have another nice set of 4 complete seat covers to include in sale. Other parts included: IPD exact fit plastic dash cover, OEM water pump kit, 2 extra full size wheels and tires, and 2 real radial studded snow tires, OEM rotor and pad set for 2 wheels. Instrument panel has Tach option and small clock. All instruments in dash work as they should. Front windshield has a nickel size hit in front of passenger side, see picture. Body panels, etc have zero rust, all windows roll up and down properly. All new headlight, taillight and front corner lenses. IPD original receiver hitch installed. AM/FM CD aftermarket radio installed in place of original. Rear area fitted plastic area cover for hatch area included as well. Also installed are IPD high performance anti-sway bars at front axle.
Some service performed: Timing belt and seals at 174,829 miles; New Power steering rack, as original started leaking replaced at 180,611; New exhaust system at 172,553 miles; Have records for many smaller items to review if needed.
The Volvo 240 wagon is one of the safest vehicles ever constructed, and is extremely easy to work on, with all parts available through many suppliers and very reasonable costs. I get most general maintenance items through ebay vendors, and buy specialty aftermarket and OEM parts through IPD in Oregon.
