1988 Volvo 740 Description

A true sleeper or cool grocery getter. What you have here is a RED 1988 Volvo 740 station wagon. It was originally a turbo car.The Volvo is now powered by a Chevy LT1 V8 350 out of a 1995 Camaro Z28.I used to call it the Volvaro...Has 3" exhaust with a Flowmaster, sounds and drives very good.Surprises everyone at the gas station, it is fun.I had a 96 Camaro recently and this car honestly runs a lot better/stronger.I know they had to re-flash computer when it was removed, so it may have good tune.It has the 4l60e overdrive automatic from the Camaro as well. The Volvo was originally a rear wheel drive car, so it has the factory rear end.It is not a posi. This wagon has a decent interior for its age and mileage. The front seats have recently been re-upholstered.The interior is all there, no missing panels or major issues.Awesome third row seating.Great for the whole family, either for a picnic or a drag race. The sun roof has been retired and can no longer open... Factory volvo dash, all of the gauges but temp work, tach was modified to work with LT1. Has dash cover to hide cracks... Has small aftermarket gauges that sort of work, temp is broken as well.Runs great, doesn't over heat or give any issues.I originally purchased this car already converted in Maine a few years back, my dad and I drove it all the way back, 2500 miles no issues. It has been driven occasionally ever sense. The car body has over 200k miles, but looks decent.I was told the motor came out of a 95 Camaro with approx. 90K miles, but who knows if that is true.Car rides fine for what it is.It is not perfect, not a $10k conversion, but done well and a fun car.Had transmission rebuilt, newer fuel pump (walbro 255), newer rack and pinon.New paint, less than a year.Decent tires.Needs minor things touched up and kept up, but hey its 29 years old with 200k+ miles on body. V8!!!!!!
