This auction is for a beautiful Milano Red 2000 Acura Integra GS-R. If you are looking at this auction, then you already know how legendary these cars are. They're extremely fun while being extremely maintainable and affordable. With a rock solid 5-speed transmission, incredibly tight suspension/steering, and the roar of the VTEC engine, this car makes even the most boring commute fun...at 27-30MPG (which I personally achieved).
This car is special,folks. It has been babied by me and the previous owner. This car is very close to stock and easily revertibleto 100% stock. This car is not "slammed", nor does it have a "rattle-can" exhaust, nor is it covered in cheap no-name after-market parts, nor does it have an after-market radio/trunk subwoofer. The engine has never been rebuilt or modified in any way. It has been so babied, in fact, that it has never been given below mid-grade gas. The first owner of this car, performed maintenance on the carat an Acura dealerat every interval defined by the manual. All the receiptswere saved and organized into a binder by season (which will be included with the car). In my ownership, all maintenance/modifications have been performed by me.
The title is clean. The clutch is original and has great grip. No oil leaks. VTEC engages properly. No grinding gears. Shiftingis easy. The engine/transmissionruns without any issues.Air conditioning blowscold.No fender rust.Paint is original!Not even any creaks or rattles! Power antenna is fully functional! Power windows and moonroof are lubed and fully functional.
Two new OEM motor torque mounts were installed less than 10 miles ago. New Mobil One synthetic oil and a Bosch oil filter was installed less than 10 miles ago.A new Bosch intake air filter was installed less than 150 miles ago. New OEM inner door liners were installed less than 500 miles ago.New rear brake pads were installed less than 500 miles ago.New OEM exhaust system was installed from the exhaust manifold to the tip 3 years ago.
The following 3 Japanese-market Honda OEM accessories were added to the car:
- Honda Access MOMO steering wheel with SRS. This leather steering wheel was sold in Japan through Honda's Honda Access program and was the most expensive steering wheel that could be ordered at the dealership. This is much more rare than the non-SRS MOMO steering wheel that you commonly find on "JDM" cars. Designed by the Italian racing company MOMO, this is the exact same wheel that was used on the Ferrari 550(minus the Honda branding of course) and is a couple inches smaller in diameterthan the stock wheel. An airbag has been installed and is fully functional. A second front is included. There are no cruisecontrolson the wheel. (The stock steering wheel is included and cruise control can be reenabled just by plugging back into the cruise control controls.)
- Honda Integra Type-R '96-spec springs. These springs were taken from a Japanese 1996 Honda Integra Type-R with 68,000km (~42,200 mi). They lower the car by a tasteful 3/4" and replace the linear rear springs with progressive ones. This has tightened handling considerably while maintaining the original ride comfort/road noise. (All the original springs are included and the front two struts are included.)
- Honda stainless steel oil cap. Yes, this was a Japanese-only official Hondaaccessory. (The original oil cap is included.)
The following 5 after-market accessories were added to the car:- DEI Viper 5706V 2-way security system & remote entry. This is Viper's top of the line 2-way remote security system. It was installed in a non-traditional location in the car to deter theft. It was completely installed by me and all wires were soldered into the car's electrical system; no t-taps as to increase reliability after years of driving. Configured with a glass break sensor, tilt sensor, EL-glow indicator, and siren with wiring in place for a trunk-mounted back-up battery and a hood switch. Controls running lights, cabin lights, and locking door actuators. Includes all the original unused wiring, documentation, two remotes, and a DEI Bitwriter for easy adjustment of the security system's features. More information will be supplied to the winner of the auction.
- Computech Icebox intake. This intake increases throttle response and makes the engine sound more "healthy" without the functional/visual issues of an open-air intake. For you Californians, it is CARB approved. (Original intake & resonator is included.)
- Tokico Illumina 5-way adjustable struts. These adjustable shocks allow you to configure the car for a firm, sporty ride or for a softer, more relaxed ride.
- Dynamat Xtreme. Decreases road noise. A very light application has been added to the car body and doors.
- 2 LED rear-license plate bulbs. (Original OEM-type bulbs can be bought and installed in a couple minutes)
The following accessories are included:
- Winter steelies (with Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50 185/65R14 tires). The OEM "GS-R Blades" (with sporty Yokohama S.Drive 205/55R15 tires) and original spare tire are included and have never seen a winter (so there is no typical salt pitting). All tires have at least one more season of tread left on them.
- 1998 Acura Integra Service Manual & Electrical Troubleshooting.This is an original physical paper manual (not a digital copy nor reprint). Unfortunately, I didn't get my hands on the 2000 addendum but it can be found online for free and is usually unnecessary.
- Original Integra floor mats. In like-new condition since I used some winter floor mats the majority of the time (which I am also including).
- Leather Acura dealer binder and year-2000 brochure. Includes radio unlock code, three OEM keys (one is a valet key), owners manual, and some original sales goodies.
- OEM Mud Flaps. Came installed from the dealership.
- Overdrive PolyPro3 car cover. Unused.
- Lots of additional OEM parts.
Why am I selling this gorgeous specimen? There are two reasons. First of all, due to a sudden change in life, I will no longer have a garage/resources to maintain a car and thus, I need a newer car. The second reason is related to the first. This car is 16-years-old and, like all 16-year-old cars, it needs TLC...more TLC than I can provide. In its current state, the car needs work which I can't do. As I want to sell this car AS-IS with no surprises to the future owner, here is a list of issues:
- The rear brake lines need replacement. This car is from the mid-west and, like all mid-west cars, rust is an issue. While the body is fine, the brake lines on the underbody of the car have rusted and are leaking. The fluid reservoirneeds to be refilled about once a week (with about 50 miles of driving per day). The rear brakes still work and the car is drivable; however, I highly recommend that the car is towed and not driven until this issue is fixed. The plastic brake/fuel line cover under the car has been removed for your/a mechanic's convenience.There are cheap bandage fixes to this issue that can spare you a couple months/years, but, since this is a prime example of a legendary car, I would hope that the future owner of this car would find a more appropriate solution.
- There is a very small leak in the trunk. Yes, unfortunately the car was involved in an accident about 2 years ago. The rear driver's quarter panel was professionally replaced with a quarter panel from a Milano Red 1999 Integra (which means there will be no color bleed) by a licensed, highly-rated Acura dealership. Its hard to tell it was replaced. Unfortunately, for some reason, when it rains a very small amount of water enters the trunk. Not sure where it comes from.
- Typical paint fade/chips. Milano Red Hondas fade. Its pretty common to see faded Milano Red 2012 Honda Fits on the road. While this car is no exception, this is best looking Milano Red Integra I've ever seen. The paint isn't as vivid red as it once was, but it is nowhere near pink like on most of these cars. The clear coat is also in very good condition. Keep in mind that the paint is completely original (except on the replaced rear quarterof course). Also, the car has small chips in the paint from daily driving/age, especially on the driver's mirror, front windshield wipers, and engine. There are also three small dents from hail. No attempt has been made to pull these out.
- Bearing squeal when very cold.On days when near/below freezing, there is some squealing from the engine compartment. While I have never particularly looked into the issue, this is likely just a worn bearing on the alternator/water pump (both of which are original). As the car warms up, this disappears. On days above freezing, no squeal will be heard at all.
Now for the fun part. For payment,a $750 Paypal deposit must be sent within 48 hours of winning. Then, the remaining balance must be paid ascash upon pickup or (cleared) wire transfer before pickup before the keys are handed over. No money order or cashier's check will be accepted. I will not end this listing early or perform a transaction outside of what is written here.
