Offered for sale is a 2001 Audi A6 Quattro.2.7L Bi-turbo,all wheeldrive car. Clear Ohio title in my name.
Listed for sale locally. I reserve the right to end this listing at any time. There's not much wiggle room on the price. I'll either fix it to resell, to drive or cut it up for parts before I can budge on the price. Thanks.
This car needs work and has been sitting for about a year. The car was a daily-driven, running vehicle before the start of the oil leak.Per the mechanic that inspected the car it is due for a crankshaft seal and camshaft seals. While you've got it tore that far down, you might as well replace the timing belt and water pump for good measure.
Currently, when you start the car it pours oil from the frontsealat the crankshaft. The car has never been ran low on oil.The oil leak is so severe that you cannot drive this car home….plan on towing or trailering it home. I'm very confident that the engine may yet be salvaged as it has never been starved for oil.
The body is in very nice condition. The most noticeable rust is on the right rear quarter panel and is detailed in a close-up picture in this listing.Otherwise, thequarter-panels are very nice. The body edges and door seams are very nice. The black paint is in very good condition, it shines nicely but there are a handful of stone chips and a few minor scratches (15 year old car). There are some minor scratches noticeable on the rear bumper and front valance
The tan-leather interior is very nice with minor wear noticeable on the driver seat (see pics). The carpet is very nice.Dash gauges work but does have a few burned out LEDs in the cluster.Owned only by non-smokers.The power seats, mirrors, sunroof and windows all work as they should. The driver side mirror looks hazy from the heating element.
All of the lights work.Turn signals and reverse lights function like they should. Has 2 sets of keys with working remote locks and trunk release. Has a small stone chip in the windshield / driver side. The sound system works fine and sounds good.
Under the hood, you’ll find the 2.7L twin-turbo motor. It’s an oily mess right now.The car starts and runs, but pours oil out the front seal at a ridiculous rate. The exhaust is quiet. While it sat, stupid mice built a nest under the hood and chewed through the hood insulation (see pics).Since it sat for so long, the brake rotors have developed rust. You should probably plan on replacing or at least having the rotors turned. The brakes work and are not frozen from sitting. The underside of the car looks very clean. The brake and fuel lines look good.
I bought this car from a co-worker with the intentions of fixing it and driving it.My plans have changed.I don’t have the time nor the ambition to tackle this tear down and the car is far too nice to consider parting out.I know I could make more money on it by parting it out but I’m really not ready to tackle that task either. But....I've parted out nicer cars than this and that option is still on the table if it doesn't sell. I can fix it but I just don't want to fix it.
Like I said. Don't plan on driving this one home. Don't even plan on a 1/2 mile test drive. It is pouring oil out of the front seal. It is safe to run long enough to hear that the bottom-end of the engine is good and to drive onto your trailer. I'm not comfortable driving it around the block at the rate it is dumping oil.
If you want this car delivered I am willing to haul it locally on my trailer but that fee and details need to be worked out prior to purchase. Full payment in cash, in person is expected before the car leaves my property. No warranty. Your are buying a car that is worth fixing if you've got the skills and the time.
If you choose the "Buy It Now" option, I will expect a $200 non refundable deposit within 48 hours. Full payment (cash only) is expected within 7 days of the auction end. I make no promises or guarantees about this car. I saw this car driven daily to the office and the previous owner kept it clean and maintained. Previous owner purchased a late model Benz when the oil leak started on this one.
Please feel free to ask questions. I'll gladly send additional pics if requested. Thanks for looking.
