The best part of this RS6 is the documentation - from the purchase contract with the original owner, through today. Every bit of maintenance that's gone into this vehicle is documented and stored in a thick folder of receipts. Some highlights:
At 97k miles, the engine, transmission, torque converter, and both turbochargers were replaced under the extended CPO warranty.
Around 121k miles, the previous owner replaced the stock DRC (Dynamic Ride Control) suspension with a KW Variant 3 coilover suspension. This replaced the most common failing parts typical to the RS6 with a smooth ride that still gives good road feedback. Also, added Hotchkis swaybars Front & Rear, tuned suspension settings for good road feedback but not scraping speed bumps, and remaining flat while cornering.
3 Matched Keyfobs and 1 Valet key are included in the sale.
Wheels: The stock wheels were refinished roughly 10,000 miles ago and have Pilot SuperSport tires mounted, with ~6k miles on them.
Brakes: ~3k miles on Front RS5 scalloped rotor, Hawk High Performance Ceramic pads; Rear 2-piece ECS rotors, Hawk High Performance Ceramic pads.
Body and Lighting: New front bumper, new headlights, new smoked LED taillight capsules
Recent Maintenance: 6k miles ago, Timing Belt, Water Pump, Pulleys, and Tensioners, as well as Passenger side Turbo replaced, Valve Cover Gaskets, Camshaft Tensioners, plugs, and seals and a freshly rebuilt Alternator.
Most Recent Maintenance: 150 miles ago, Upper Intake Manifold (UIM) Gaskets, Auxiliary / Secondary Water Pump, ALL vac lines under the UIM replaced with Silicone lines, Injector O-rings, Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensors replaced, Power Steering Pump flushed/filled with BND Fluid kit, Coolant flushed/filled with BND Hi-performance coolant, and Secondary Air Injection system removed, 034Motorsports block-off plates installed.
Most recently, I replaced the brake pedal sensor to get rid of an annoying "brake light out" error that would show up sporadically, and the Central Convenience (Central Locking) Module to fix a problem with the trunk not unlocking from key fob input - this works properly now.
EXTRAS included with the sale:
Tire/wheel rack - wall-mounting, adjustable, still brand new in box.
About two-thirds of a quart bottle of BND ACES-IV fuel system treatment
K-40 Radar Detector / Laser Jammer was professionally installed, system as configured cost roughly $3,000.Box-'O-Parts - Original headlight capsules with HIDs attached, original tail light housings, SAI piping, an extra center high mount brake light, etc..
EXTRAS NOT Included with the sale:
Audi RNS-E navigation system. If you want it, please let me know and I will re-install it for $1,000. Typical cost for this setup is ~$2500, and there is no shortage of resale value.
Brakes: Resurfaced OE RS6 rotors front and rear (used less than 10k miles); Brand new Hawk High Performance Ceramic (yellow box) brake pads front and rear are available for $500
Wheels/Tires: Michelin Pilot Super Sports on refinished original rims with 5k miles on them. Also, a Winter set of stock wheels, painted lava grey, with Blizzak's mounted for ~3500 miles on them are available for $500, and come with Audi branded tire storage bags with felt pads.
The beast is ready for viewing, but I've pulled my insurance, so no joy-rides. I'll be happy to show and talk about it, and take serious buyers for a spin. With a sizeable deposit towards purchase, I will sit passenger while you drive.
This is a well-sorted example of a rare vehicle that should be maintenance-free for the foreseeable future. Consider that I've laid out well north of my asking price in maintenance costs the past 3 years, that should say something about how to value this car. I'm not trying to get my money back with ~$45k invested so far on top of my original purchase, but I'm also not giving it away. Finding a fully-documented example of this rare vehicle is getting harder and farther between, so don't let this future classic get away from you
Jalopnik Article, RS6 is a future classic
If you want to buy it from cross-country, this car was trucked with full bond insurance from the Portland, OR area to Northern Virginia for $875. I will require a Cashier's check from Navy Federal Credit Union, which will be deposited and cleared before I allow freight pick-up.
