I tell my friends it drives like a sports car and rides like a luxury car. This was my all-season daily driver the past several years. I'm sellingbecause we are moving out-of-state with no room at the new place. I am the third owner, the previous 2owners were in Southern California and it was shipped here to the Chicago suburbs when I bought it. I have ALL the service record receipts from them. I've done all my own work on this car since then using only quality recommended parts. This includes the following maintenance and repairs in the last 5,000 miles:
  • Completely removed existing stereo system and rewired with quality insulated RCA cable
  • Replaced all 8 cabin speakers (doors)
  • Expansion tank and cap
  • Coolant hoses
  • Front brake calipers

This BMW is coming up on its 17th birthday, and no car that old is problem free. If it was, the car would be worth closer to the $70k it sold fornew. Here are the current issues:
  • The DCS-ABS-BRAKE codes are lit (as pictured). This indicates one of two problems: either the front wheel speed sensors need to bereplaced, or the 5.7 Bosch ABS module needs to be rebuilt. Either is a minor mechanical fix, but if it is the module you'll have to remove itand send it in for repair. BBA Reman on ebay for $95 was recommended to me.
  • Minor oil leak from oil pan. Slow - I've only checked it every month. Probably needs a new oil pan gasket.
  • Rewired the entire stereo system with quality RCA cables including hookup for a rear camera. As pictured, you'll need to get a new 7-series specific single-din trimpiece which is available for purchase on-line. Stereo head unit is easily detached and hooked back up.
  • Rear driver's side corner bumper trim is cracked (as pictured)
  • There are fine scratches in the top coat of hood, roof, and trunk - only visible when viewed close up as shown in pic. Should buff out of clearcoat but it never bothered me.
  • The glove box latch is broken and needs to be fixed or replaced.
  • Due for an alignment.

Extra parts included with car:
  • Custom BMW USB interface cable
  • DVDs with included INPA, DIS, and SSS diagnostic software
  • Extra front passenger window with correct trim and seal.
  • Miscellaneous BMW parts (oil filter, hoses, bolts, screws, etc.)

This car is sold AS-IS. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Local pickup only in the western Chicago suburb of Batavia, IL.
One of the finest production cars ever made. A complete joy to drive.
