2002 BMW M3 E46 M3 Cabriolet Description

For Sale - 2002 BMW M3 Convertible (E46 / S54)
Up for sale is a 2002 E46 M3 silver on grey interior. Car is in great shape (in my opinion) for it's age and mileage. Always garaged, always dealer maintained and serviced. I'm kind of a car nut, and bought this one for the iconic S54 motor, as well as the timeless styling of the M3. But, with two in the garage, two in the driveway, and one in storage, this one has to go. But that just in time for summer.
GENERALCar is in great shape in my opinion. And I'm the type of person who waxes cars once a month, regardless of whether or not they've been driven much, and cleans inside the gas tank lid, and under the hood and trunk lids as well. I bought the car about two years ago from a local dealer, who I believe bought it from it's original Owner. It was apparent that it had been garaged and only used as a nice weather car it's whole life, both by mileage and condition. I've used it in the same fashion since.... although with the windscreen and heated seats, if the high's over 50, the top can be down without having to dress the part.
BODYThe body and paint are generally in good shape, with no evidence of clearcoat fade, or rust of any kind. A few nicks and dings here or there on the paint and lower valences, but nothing that bothers me. I don't like to say much about the body on a car, because the photos speak for themselves. If you have any questions, or want to come see it, please let me know. I don't believe it has been in any accidents, but feel free to check Carfax if it's a concern for you.
MECHANICALIn 2014, I noticed a ticking in the motor. Brought it to BMW, who first thought it was the vanos, but then couldn't figure it out. Ultimately, they found some odd scoring on a cylinder head, and the BMW North America actually paid for over $8,000 in work to rebuild the motor, despite the fact that it wasn't under warranty. No problem since. Just had it serviced, new brakes and rotors, ECM programmed, and dyno-tuned by Powerhaus-Performance, so it's running great. They also put in a cold air intake, and upgraded all the filters for me.
INTERIORInterior is in great shape as well. Although it could use new front carpet pads due to wear, the rest is as good as I've seen for a car with the mileage and age. No rips or tears on the leather, again... always well cared for.
Good luck, happy bidding, and feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
