I am the second owner of this car and I have had it for over 10 years. I love this car very much. I am selling because I dont have the time to drive it, and I dont have the garage space to store it. Time for a new loving home. It is a seriously fun car to drive, and much faster than stock.
After the decision to sell, the car was taken to the local BMW dealer and asked to be inspected, and anything mechanical needed to be replaced. This includes new rubber (less than 100 miles) and a new alternator, and service to the heater blower.
Hard to know where to start
59k miles. I have partial service records, but some have been lost, and in the past I had done the oil changes myself so they are not included. Oil was changed every spring which is probably about every 1k miles with mobile 1 only (yea I spent more on oil than on gas probably) Premium gas only its whole life.
ASA stage 2 supercharger. This maxes out around 5lb boost. The fuel mix is controlled by an ASATronic, which is essentially a variable resistor that increases the fuel by a %. This was tuned locally by Godspeed Dyno Tuning. Dyno chart is pictured and car puts over 270 RWHP to the ground (I have seen a dyno of an E46 M3 making 272, so this number is respectable imo)
Fuel mix and boost are monitored by gauges incorporated into the main dah, very stock looking.
Note that this car is a little harder to drive than a stock 330 as its puts down more power, the shifter is much tighter, and the clutch grabs much harder.
Car includes many mods from over the years- UUC dual clutch new in the past couple of years. Less than 2k miles on it. Grabs very hard compared to stock. (was necessary as the increases power caused the stock clutch to slip)- UUC catback exhaust. really nice exhaust system- Ray Engineering Lexion 203 wheels. These have some curb rash-Brand new rubber last week.- new alternator-heater blower serviced- e46 M3 hood-Mtech2 bumper (this is a stock bmw part that came on later e46s)- Headlight interior panels painted body match. (one of my cheapest and most favorite mods)- UUC SSK3 short shift kit- BMW stock short shifter (from z4 i think)- Dash gauges for boost, oil press, air/fuel mix. Made to look stock.- e46 M3 steering wheel-E46 M3 shadow line trim (gloss black window trim)- rear trunk keyhole DELETED.Im sure that Im forgetting something.
Car has never been in any kind of accident, however the front was repainted when the new bumper and hood were installed.
The car needs nothing mechanically, and is inspected until 9-2017 although it is the stock sport suspension so that is worth going over.
There are some cosmetic issued that should be fixed- The headliner is fine and does not sag, however the A and C pillars are coming undone and need some epoxy. The driver side sun shade is also wrinkly for some reason- The rear pull for the trunk has a broken piece of plastic and is loose. Needs a new nut and washer, or a whole new interior trim peice (snaps into the painted peice)- the floor mats are included but showing a little age- driver side seat showing a little wear, the side bolster stitching is coming loose, needs to be sewn tight again.- the wiring for the headlight next to the compressor is ugly and can be shortened and put in a sleeve. I havent done it because its functioned fine for 10 years so it was low on the list of priorities- May want to clean up the oil and boost gauge wiring near the compressor, bit of a jumble.
EXTRAS:The car can come with the following extra parts that are not installed if the buyer wishes- Full set of stock M parallel wheels (curbed) for winter tires. Expect the rubber on them to be dry rotted- stock 330 hood. Silver- e46 trunk with CSL style lip moulded on. This needs pre paint work and paint- Full set of interior wood trim. I have actually never even opened this set but i bought it in case i wanted to have a shop paint my trim gloss black or something. Never got around to is- Custom moulded nav cluster surround, and matching touchscreen circa 2005. Never did this because I couldnt decide if having a car PC was worth losing my steering wheel controls. Its now possible to keep the steering wheel controls on the e39, not sure about the e46.
