1998 BMW M3 Base Sedan 4-Door 3.2L
1998 BMW M3 Base Sedan 4-Door Description
Overall car is in good condition for its age. Rare 1998 BMW M3 Sedan. There are a few imperfections that you would expect from a car that is 18 years old. There are a few imperfections on the exterior that I tried to highlight in the photos. The interior is very clean. Clean carpets and original M3 floor mats are included. The driver's and the passenger's seat both show some wear on the exterior. Everything works as it should including ice cold AC with the exception of the power recline on the drivers seat. This is a very common problem with E36's. As the engineering was poor and the utilized a plastic gear that can crack. A do it yourselfer can fix and replacement gears can be found at OdomotorGears.com for about $30. Michelins all around that are about 50%. The only reason I am selling is I do not have time to enjoy the car. No warranty expressed or implied. Buyer responsible for shipping but I will assist in getting it on it's way. Good Luck. Clean Carfax.
Mileage may increase slightly due to still driving on occasion.
Added 10/24/16 Mileage is at 120,100. The car is always garaged. However for the winter I have decided to store it in my mother's garage so that my oldest daughter can park her car inside our 3 car garage. On 10/23 I drove the car approx 100 miles to put it in storage for winter. It drove fantastic. Engine is smooth and powerful, transmission has no issues with shifting. The car tracks very straight with no vibrations at 90 mph.
While preparing to get the car ready to be stored for the winter, the driver's window has become inoperable. The window motor works as it should but the window has come out of the window track. The driver's window has always worked but it was slower than the other 3 windows. Based on this, I feel like the plastic guides were worn and the mechanism was in need of being lubricated. The other 3 windows work as new. The driver's window issue happened just before I was going to drive it to my mother's for storage so I did not have time to fully assess. The window is in the up/closed position. The car is in a garage and is covered.
A question was asked about leaks. The only leak I have come across is on a few occasions there will be a few drops (yes only a few drops) of antifreeze/coolant under it. This has been observed after longer and more spirited driving, leading me to think there is a small leak with the expansion tank. Again, very minor. There are no engine/trans/power steering leaks that I have seen.
Any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Also, please no low ball offers. The car presents well for it's age. E36 M3's will only become more rare as time goes on. Good luck. Clean title, Clean CarFax, Great AutoCheck score.
