2001 BMW 7-Series Sedan Description

Up for sale is my 2001 BMW 740IL. The car currently has 105,712 miles increasing daily as it's my daily driver; I'm the second owner having purchased this vehicle off e-bay June of 2015 when the car had 72,021 miles. Vehicle was purchased in Florida and was originally titled and registered in NY.

I paid a little over $9k for the car and put a little over $2k into it after I bought it. I'm selling because I'm moving to NY.

The vehicle has been relatively trouble free since purchase and comes with all the bells and whistles. This was a top-of-the line BMW in its day. The engine runs very strong and the transmission shifts smoothly.

Here's a list of maintenance that was done immediately after purchase:

-Mobile One synthetic oil and filter change

-Replaced all brake, power steering, antifreeze fluids

-Replaced cabin air filter and air intake filter

-Replaced faulty rear window regulator on the left rear driver's side (I'm told a common problem on these cars)

-Replaced front and rear cosmetic seat finishers

-Installed new rear brakes and rotors

-Installed new battery

-Installed new serpentine belt

-Installed new wipers

-Replaced A/C blower motor resistor

-Installed new Continental extreme contact tires

Here's what's needed with the vehicle as it currently stands:

Cosmetically:

-The rear bumper is cracked on the driver's side under the rear passenger door - I had accidentally backed up into some hard snow last February causing the crack.

-There's a dent in the front a pillar on the passenger's side where a rock flew off a maintenance truck on the highway. The windshield is not cracked though.

-The car needs new floor mats

-Needs new headliner

-The glove box locking mechanism was damaged when I bought the car and I've never cared to fix it

-The car could use some new BMW logo stickers on the M series wheels. One is missing on the front driver's side and the others are just starting to fade from age.

-Cup holders don't work and never have

Mechanically:

-Front right strut mount is starting to go bad

-Gas gauge reports 3/4 full even when it's been topped off

-DSC button doesn't function and never has since I bought the car

-Right rear passenger's side window regulator is bad causing the window to slightly not stay all the way up.

-Tires could be replaced

-The front brakes could use replacing

-The electrical clip beside the driver’s seat underneath the cosmetic finisher is loose which causes the power seat and steering wheel tilt to stop functioning when unplugged. I just clip it back in and adjust everything as needed.

-Could use an oil change

If you're looking for a nice, still modern looking sedan, this car may be for you. It does need some work cosmetic and very little mechanical work from what I know, but otherwise it's a solid car. I drive the car daily and the seats are fantastic. The A/C blows cold, the car doesn't overheat, has no warning lights on, and glides over bumps, and the sound system is symphony quality. The autocheck came back clean.

Please check out all the photos and let me know if you have any additional questions. The car has no reserve. Highest bidder wins.
