Selling 2000 e39 m5. 127,505 miles
History of the car, bought the car back in 2012. Came from an auction from Las Vegas and then to a local car dealership Boise ID. I believe I’m the 3rd owner of the vehicle. Will quit driving the car in the late part of October and start driving it again in April. BMW m5 is a black on black car some minor dents and scratches. Selling with the car with all of the oem stuff headlights, taillights, radio, 6 disc cd player, amp, nav mk4, code reader, and car cover(new). For the size of the car engine it gets pretty good mpg at 19 per gallon, but if you’re looking into buying a m5, you’re not really caring to much about the mpg. Car is a blast to drive. Handles really good. Was avoiding a car accident on the interstate and had flying debris and a car coming toward my way. Dropped the car from 6th gear(going 70ish) to 4th and hoping I was going to miss thing big accidents. When I looked back down I was going 115 mph. the car was driving really smooth at that speed also.
Pros Replaced, was missing or broken. Passenger mirror mount(broken), hella headlights(replace), tail lights(replaced), after market cd player(still have the oem stuff also). Floor mat(missing), driver line isolator joint(replaced), clutch hose assembly(replaced), threads on the oil pan was stripped out(repaired) and new tires <4k on them. Doesn’t have any salt damage from road salt or ocean salt. Replaced the led on the dashboard due to burnt out clusters. Changed out the air filter for the engine and for the ventilation for the car. The rear turning lights and I believe the front one also, has a silver color covering for the amber turning bulb. So when it is activated it still looks like a normal amber light, but when it isn’t it blends into the tail light. Less of an eye sore.
Cons power steering hoses need to be replaced, bad cluster so the mileage reads 999,999 due to the battery die(have to get a brand new cluster for the car to be able to the mileage. NOT USED). The second air ejector senor alarm which brings in a check engine light(common issue on the e39 m5 due to so many 90 degrees and carbon builds up on the walls.) Car had an accident 2 years ago. Was sitting in traffic waiting for another accident to be cleared up and the semi driver behind me decided to go and get something out of his cab(still get irritated thinking about it) not setting the emergency brake. So he rolled into me going around 1 to 2 mph. Had to get the trunk replaced and the under panel of the trunk repainted. Parking brake doesn’t work well (another BMW designed flaw). Back seat air panel vents directional arm are dislodged, but all the pieces are there. Chipped on the windshield. Been there for going on two years. Maybe 3 years. The hood release cable is broken off of handle. Use vise grips to open hood(was like that when I bought it). Crack in the front panel(was like that when I bought it). A tear in the seam of the driver seat(was like that when I bought it). Doesn’t have a radio antenna. Check side light alarm comes in due to the hela lights has halos and car doesn’t know how to read it. Checked it with the computer on the car to change the codes setting, but computer didn’t give that as an option. Rims have some road rash on them(does see how people get road rash on rims. Was there when I bought them. The car's keyless battery is dead and get it charge from the car. Don't drive the car that much any more, so didn't doesn't get a chance to charge.
