1996 BMW 3-Series Description

BEAUTIFULL "YOUNG-TIMER"... SOON TO BE A CLASSIC

BMW 1996 328 iC convertible in original condition

- I have bought this car in 2013 and have used it mainly for cruising around during nice warm summer days.

- The car has not seen any snow/salt during my ownership, neither as I have been told by the previous owner during the last ownership.

- The car was professionally polished every Spring and Fall (details of what polisher used would just bore you... but for those who are interested... it was a FLEX VRG 3401 with Klasse AIO polish)

- There is not a single spot a Rust on the shiny body.

The car has been carefully restored by myself.

To list some work that has been done to keep the car in it's good condition

1.) all paper cone speakers (some were torn) were replaced by Infinity speakers.

2.) even though the GM transmission is supposed to have a "lifetime" fill I performed a transmission fluid change with Valvoline Dex/Merc MaxLife... dropped the whole transmission pan / cleaned the pan AND the magnets !!! and changed the transmission filter

3.) fuel filter was changed (MAHLE filter)

4.) changed cabin air filter (MANN+HUMMEL filter)

5.) professionally restored leather seats and replaced torn panels. Seats as you can see in pictures are now in perfect condition.

6.) replaced blower regulator (OEM MAHLE) as vent would only blow up to stage 3... now

7.) AC system tune-up evacuating whole system and refilling with100% DuPont SUVA R134a Refrigerant... (and not some cheap AC-PRO type tune up kit that will clog the system)

8.) during the last year also replaced

- rear tires (Good-Year Eagle GT)

- front brake pads (ATE Premium One EU 781)

- front brake rotors (ATE 22mmx285mm # 34116855153)

- valve head gasket (OEM Victor Reinz)

- bought brand new OEM BMW floor mats

- changed glow plugs (NGK Iridium)

9.) installed a KENWOOD KDC-BT 958 CD receiver with built in Bluetooth and HD radio

The car is a true original... the only non original upgrade performed was a new Kenwood head-unit that has a Bluetooth free-speech kit included. The head-unit also allows you to connect a USB or AUX device. In case you are interested in the original look... the OEM BMW radio is included in the sale of the car and you are free to swap the unit back...

THINGS THAT THE FUTURE OWNER MAY WANT TO TACKLE :

- While the convertible top is in very good condition the inner headliner was torn on two spots... hence I removed it... and have not yet replaced it with a new one... Does not bother me... as the noise not having the headliner is not significantly higher anyways so I did not see a point in doing this yet.

- the passenger seat does not heat up when turning on the heated seats, have not checked into this as the driver seat works just fine... so as long as my behind was not cold I was happy...

overall a very nice convertible that will soon be a European classic. The car is registered and can be test-driven... I still use it myself on dry days.

The car has a value and will not be "given away"... so only contact me when you are TRUELY interested in purchasing the car. I do not want to waste my time with test-drives and then ridiculous negotiations that are far away from the asking price... I am readyto negotiate within reasonbut immediately annoyed if I am asked to consider a low-ball number. If you can't afford this car do not contact me...

You may wonder why I'm selling the car ? I want the older E30 model. Since I can't find a nice one on this continent I will have one imported from Europe... but this one would need to make room first... physically in the garage as well as on the insurance bill :-)
