Rare 2000 E39 M5 Imola Red
2000 BMW M5 M5 Description
I regret to announce that I am selling my 2000 e39 m5
An impeccably maintained West Coast car. The overall condition of this car is excellent with only minor blemishes. The paint is original but in great shape as is the interior. There is touch up from stone chips on the hood but only visible from very up close inspection. There is absolutely NO RUST anywhere. There is 1 spot on the passenger front seat where a seem is loose showing less than 1 inch of separation. Cosmetically, it looks like a 50k mile car.
Mechanically, absolutely nothing is needed; EVERYTHING works like new. Car was shipped in from The west coast last summer and began sorting it in every way. I'm particular about my cars and want them to look and run as they should; this car does exactly that. Over $11,000 has been spent in the past year getting and keeping this car up to its appropriate running and performance level. Here is a partial list of what's been done:
- Clutch
- Brakes (front and rear pads and rotors)
- Tires (Continental Extreme Contact DWS)
- Alignment (Performance Laser)
- Instrument Cluster rebuilt (all pixels and lights replaced)
- Headlights rebuilt (all motors and adjusters)
- Tail Lights replaced (complete assemblies using OEM)
- Sunroof Mechanism / Cassette (serviced, cleaned, adjusted)
- Inspection II service (all 8 Spark Plugs and Coil, Air filters, ALL FLUIDS)
- Many more smaller items (A/C, Fuel pump, Alternator, belt, Wipers, Pedal Pads, etc)
The car looks and runs like it has 50k miles on it. It has been very well taken care of it's whole life and it shows. All the switches and controls are crisp and all the accessories (windows, glass moonroof, hood, trunk, doors shut) work smoothly and perfectly. It starts immediately, runs smoothly without ANY warning lights (see pictures of dash with car on), smoke, strange noises, or smells. Absolutely everything works including the fold up mirrors, heated seats, cruise control, auto dimming mirrors. It runs and drives like an M5 should without any excuses.
It has the upgrade full leather package which includes all the door panels and dashboard. I also have a brand new performance exhaust put on the car as well as a complete ALUMINUM TRIM SET that hasn't been installed. You won't find a cleaner car that is this sorted for less than double the money. I hate to sell it after all I've done but it just doesn't fit my current needs for a daily driver.
I have clear title in hand, all receipts for work performed, original leather bound M owner's manuals (controls, warranty, dealers, etc). Thanks.
Additionally, I forgot to mention that the Navigation system was upgraded to the much larger, newer model (BMW OEM) found on the newer E 39 M5s along with the Headlight assemblies (also BMW OEM) which have the quad halos and amber signal lights.
The Nav was about $2,800 from the dealer plus installation and Software / Programming. The headlights were about $1,500 each plus dealer installation which included proper wiring. Again, everything works flawlessly without warning lights because it was done the right way
Yes, it has the very rare black gauges with aluminum trim rings; extremely hard to find and much more attractive than the gray they all have.
this car is also being sold locally so i have the right to remove this listing.
