1988 BMW E30 M3
1988 BMW M3 Description
There are 3 things you see before you. #1 An 1988 BMW Motorsport Legend. #2 A man who's wife doesn't understand #1 and needs it gone or my new GT4 (I know you're a champ at finding Waldo and there's a lot going on in the photo but please focus back on the E30 M3). #3 A numbers matching E30 M3 priced low for someone to enjoy and not for someone to stash it in a warehouse as an investment.
Some critical info before you start bidding.
Exterior: Salmon Silver Metallic (203). Perhaps one of the rarest colors in what is now a White, Red and Black M3 market. Body is completely straight with the exception of a dimple dent on her right rear panel. Not going to sprinkle fancy words like 'Patina' or 'Nostalgic Fade'. This car has been parked outside and is in need of a new coat of paint. Since paint work is highly subjective I've left it untouched. Likewise I've left the windshield, which has a crack in it alone as well. Not because I'm cheap but if someone opted to repaint the car, the windshield would most likely need to be replaced again. The car has a 100% clean Carfax. No accidents. No stories just neglect from previous owner. The real gem here is knowing that this car has always been a California car and has Never left the San Francisco Bay Area. For buyers not familiar with the Bay Area or understand the significance, this basically translates to ZERO RUST on the entire car. Always look for Bay Area or Arizona cars.
Interior: Black. With the exception of the E46 M3 shift knob, interior remains untouched. No cracks on dash but some busted seams in the rear seats. Photos will show.
Maintenance: Other than a few receipts from the glove box all maintenance performed by myself. See the lift behind? Yes I'm one of 'those' guys that like to work on my own car. Picked this up from my neighbor who wasn't so meticulous. Got most of the stuff sorted but there are some additional fixes which were not on my priority list as they were not items which would hinder my drive experience- no A/C, no cruise control. At 192,163miles the car runs well but could benefit from an idle valve adjustment. Driver side door lock has a personality but opens fine at most times. Just don't hold up a bank or gas station. Front two suspension bushings, replaced. Rears, not. Brakes stop solid.
Now that you've stomached the con's allow me to share with you the Pro's... Tires are new. All four center caps procured and present. Fluids current. All VIN stickers including the one on the motor block itself intact with the exception of the driver side inner front fender. The only sticker missing. Tool kit is complete. Sunroof operational as with lights etc.
Car will come with 2 keys no books. I do require an immediate $1000 deposit via paypal on the day the auction ends. Failing that, I will re-list without notice. Sorry but in a past auction, the purchaser neither came up with the funds or took 2 weeks to leave a deposit. Neither fair for me or the 2nd guy who would've picked up the car. I hope you understand. With that said, ask any questions and happy bidding!
