2001 BMW Z3 Description

2001 3.0i Z3 with a VERY low 60K milesMetallic Atlanta Blue original paintAutomatic with Manual Shift optionM54 Straight 6 MotorI spent the summer and fall bringing it back to factory new and this car is ready to be someone's daily driver, or just a weekend toy.
I bought it from my father-in-law, who is a car dealer. I knew the car was wrote off at one point (see VIN history). He bought it at auction as a salvage due to flood damage. Not sure why the insurance company was so eager to write it off though. He had the car checked out, cleaned thoroughly, and ended up only having to have a seat motor replaced before making it his daily driver for a few years.
I have been under, over and through this car (had the entire interior out of it minus the dash at one point working on the set bushings and took the opportunity to peek at the floorpans from the inside in case there was some rust / damage lurking in there) and have not seen any signs of water or damage from it beyond that seat motor that was replaced.
Like my ad says, it's rust free. Not gonna lie, the story freaked me out but since this was his daily driver for a few years, and I had more than one occasion to drive it when he lived with us one summer, I knew it was a solid car that just needed some TLC. It has a clear Tennessee title with no remarks on it.Paint is original to the car and has the typical minor imperfections but it's less than you would expect on a 17 year old car (it's a 01 but was built and sold in 2000). I'm a purest and left it alone instead of being professionally touched up. The car is completely rust free as well.
Interior work:• Seat bushings replaced• Floor mats replaced• Passenger window actuator and motor replaced• Both windows have new window guides (they are quick and quiet)• Seat belt guides have been replaced• Clear wind deflector added behind seats• JVC headunit with Bluetooth and USB capability (factory radio included too)Exterior work:• New tires at 57,000 miles• New brakes at 50,000 miles• New convertible OEM top• Wheels professionally refinished• New body badges and wheel cap badges• New door handle gaskets• Switched to a stubby antenna to make covering it easier (original antenna included)Mechanical work:• New washer pump and nozzles• Replaced valve cover gasket, oil housing gasket and thermostat gasket• Replaced Vanos unit (from Dr. Vanos) and oil lines• New power steering fluid reservoir• New spark plugs• New front struts, lower arms, ball joints and tie rodsDon't let the list scare you. This car was in great shape when I bought it and everything that has been done is typical for a Z3 with this many years on it. It's as near flawless and has not been filled with useless mods and upgrades. With all the work that has been done this car is a worry-free ride that you could take to California and back today! I restored it in hopes of keeping it for a bit longer but plans change and it's now ready to be someone else's head turner. The only item that I am leaving unfinished is the airbags. They are all in the car and have never been deployed, but one of the occupancy sensors in the passenger seat is throwing an error code. I've attempted to fix it, but since the only thing the error does besides making the dash light come on is, in the case of an accident, all airbags will deploy instead of just the driver bags if you are riding alone. Personally as small as the car is, I thought having them all come out in case of an accident was a positive since it's such a small ride. This is a typical Z3 issue of you read up on it.Beyond that, this car is flawless for its age and mileage.Local pick up in Nashville, TN or you can make shipping arrangements.
