2007 BMW 5-Series 550i Sport Description

THIS AUCTION IS FOR A CAR WITH FRONT END DAMAGE AND A REBUILT TITLE.
Please examine the picture carefully and ask questions before bidding. Up for auction, no reserve, is my beloved 2007 e60 BMW 550i. I bought this car with a rebuilt title (prior theft) and drove it for almost 30K miles without any issues. That is, of course, until I ran into the back of a lifted Jeep with a trailer hitch that did the damage you see here. The airbags did not blow. The car runs and drives, but three warning lights are on :
1) Adaptive Headlight Malfunction2) Right Low Beam Malfunction3) PDC (parking sensor) Malfunction.
Of course, looking at the damage, this makes sense. It will definitely need a hood, bumper, and two headlights. This kind of repair is outside of my ability, but my loss is your gain (assuming you do have the ability to do this kind of bodywork).
The main reason that someone would want to repair a car like this back to it's original glory would be the rarity of it. There are not many e60 550i's (360 Horsepower DOHC Normally Aspirated V8) with the six speed manual transmission (three pedals) and the Auburn leather interior. This car also came with the Sport package, the dynamic handling package, the cold weather package (heated seats and steering wheel), and the aforementioned Xenon adaptive headlights. It would have had a new MSRP of over $75,000 by my calculations.
It took me a long time to find this car in the first place, and it's been my second favorite car I've ever owned (I'm a 42 year old married father of two). When Car and Driver did a comparison test of this model versus the Lexus GS450, the Mercedes E550, and the Infiniti M45 Sport, they lauded the cars handling, performance, and the sense of confidence that it has over other brands. They said that the 550i was "...quick on the track, quick on the road, and smooth on the freeway, and it scored the highest fun-to-drive rating in the group."The difference is that you can buy the BMW with the enthusiast's preferred 6 Speed manual transmission, and this is simply not available on the other three.
Since I've owned this 550i, I've always garage kept it and maintained it according to Otto's Maintenance schedule (Bavarian Auto), using synthetic fluids and genuine BMW filters and parts. For items that were past my mechanical ability, I called Karl at European Road and Racing (in North Charleston, SC). You are welcome to come to my house and have a look / start it up - but bring a license plate and your driver's license - since I have already swapped tags from this car. Buyer is responsible for pickup; and although it runs and drives - considering the damage, I would not drive this car any real distance as it sits.
Again - THIS CAR IS DAMAGED AND HAS A REBUILT TITLE, up for auction NO RESERVE.
