The BMW M6 Cabrio combines different qualities in completely new way. It is the open variant of the high speed sports car BMW M6. And it is at the same time the BMW 6er Cabrio in its sportiest development. Above all however theBMWM6 Cabrio is one of the most fascinating and most exclusive vehicles, which were ever built. Its driving dynamic qualities were optimized - as usual with M models - on the racing course. With its high travelling comfort, its comprehensive equipment and its flair it is however on all roads of this world at home.

The roof of the BMW M6 convertible is made of three layers. A special noise and heat insulating layer of polyurethane (PUR) foam comes between the rubberized outer layer and the interior roof lining. Thanks to its unique fin-roof look, the soft top boasts the same dynamic contours as the Coupe. The wide C-pillar is characterised by BMW’s famous Hofmeister ‘kick’

The interior of the BMW M6 Convertible again boasts a wide range of stylish and practical features. Due its driver-oriented cockpit, all essential functions are positioned either on or around the steering wheel. The iDrive controller, housed on the centre console, is positioned for access by both driver and front passenger, and can be used to activate and operate a wide range of comfort functions via the Control Display. The Control Display comes with an enhanced menu guidance which also features MDrive management.

This fast-revving engine forms a perfect match with the optimum gear and final drive ratios, ensuring a perfectly dosed transmission of engine power to the drive wheels at the rear.

The entire power and performance concept behind this engine is derived directly from Motorsport; in the process of developing its maximum output, the V10 power unit revs all the way to 8,250 rpm, reaching engine speeds otherwise only found in a purebred racing car. More than 100 hp per litre is truly outstanding for a normally-aspirated engine. Variable double-VANOS camshaft control, in turn, ensures an optimum gas cycle at all times. Individual throttle butterflies on each cylinder with full electronic control give the V10 yet another highlight from its motor racing heritage

Perfect interaction of the V10 power unit and seven-speed SMG gives the driver ultimate pleasure behind the wheel; acceleration from 0 to 60 mph comes in 4.8 seconds with the standing-start kilometre completed in just 22.9 seconds. This supreme performance continues all the way to the car’s top speed limited electronically to 250 km/h.

With its maximum torque of 383 lbs-ft with 6100 rpm the engine strength in the abundance guarantees. Already with 3,500 rpm it offers 333=1 lbs-ft. And 80 percent of the maximum torque are callable over a far speed range of 5,500 rpm. So unusually this for a sport engine is so much profited, from it the driver: The BMW M6 Cabrio convinces with sporty driving fashion just like with the benefitful Cruisen on the highway.

The seat belts on all four seats come with belt force limiters. The integrated restraint systems on the front seats also feature belt latch tensioners, with two-stage frontal and side airbags reducing the risk of injury. These safety components are controlled and masterminded by the Advanced Safety Electronics (ASE), a safety and information system exactly determining the intensity of a collision and activating the restraint systems quickly and precisely when they are required.
