1997 BMW M3 Description

Up for sale is a monster ready to be tracked or a dangerous toy to be daily driven. This E36 M3 was on its way to becoming my baby until a new baby started baking inthe oven, forcing the sale. For what it is worth, I feel this car should live out her dayson the track. It is 80% the way there. You only need to strip it out entirely, slap on somemeatier brakes, and then you are done.
This is a 5-Speed Manual S52 Inline 6 Cylinder Engine. She has the most desirable body style (2Dr Coupe) and is not meant to bedriving around with kids in the back :)
First I will name off some pros...followed by some cons...
Overall Performance1. For starters, she is outfitted with a $6000 RMS Stage 2 (Not 2+) Supercharger Kit1.1 This car has a custom Active Autowerks Stage 2 tuned for the supercharger1.2 Brand new Headers were installed with the custom tuned ECU1.3 Prior to me was a new head installed, ported, with ARP head Studs and 50mm head gasket.
2. All three belts are BRAND NEW (less than 20 miles on them)3. Brand new front main crank seal was just replaced, and was the driver for getting the belts replaced due to some oil kick up.4. Suspension was all done by the previous owner A)New sway bars, rods, and adjustable coil-overs, and apparently anything else that was worn out was replaced. Apparently it all was done top to bottom.5. Newer Oil Filter Housing and Porsche MAF6. Along with an upgraded radiator, this car also has an oil cooler, intercooler, and after cooler, all done well with properly routed lines.7. The previous owner mentioned the clutch was upgraded. The clutch is extremely smooth, very tight, shifts smoothly into all gears, and honestly feels like a short throw shifter was installed. Aluminum aftermarket shift knob feels perfect throwing into gears.8. Brakes have plenty of meat on them, but appear overall to be stock.9. Strut tower is set up, however it still needs a bar.10. I am sure more info is missing...
Interior/Exterior1. This car has the highly coveted, JUST shy of perfect Black Vader Interior.2. Yellow fog lights, euro clear side markers, and euro clear turn signals.3. Car has been de-badged, but does bear some cross-hair badges.4. Hk Premium Sound System with HiFi, 6 Disk CD changer, and wired for Subwoofer (not included)5. Lightly tinted windows all around.6. The glove box does not have the typical BMW sag and is stout.7. Sunroof works just dandy,8. Custom tri-pod gauge mount with AEM and SpA Design Gauges (Boost Gauge and Air/Fuel Gauge is wired.9. New Lloyd Floor Mats10. Full sized Spare DSII Rim and Tire in the Back.11. 17'' Beyern Rapp Wheelset in Excellent Condition.12. Spare 16'' Wheelset from E39. This wheelset is for a spare set (winter, daily driving, whatever. If this meets a certain price, they will be included.
CONS (none at all! Just kidding...) Some of these are petty, but bear with me for honest reasons...1. Overall body is a 7/10. Driver's door was slightly scuffed and also has some side trim that is not tight. In addition, the rubber seals around windows are showing their age and dry cracking in some spots. There are some rock chips on the hood. And there is a small dent I haven't bothered to pull out of the hood. There are some scuffs on the rear bumper and a couple other paint chips around the body (I have pictures of it all)
2. Interior (Driver's seat bolster has some wear, but worst part is there is a small hole about the size of a dime/nickel in the bottom left bolster of the seat.
3. When you tell the car to get up and go, the radio will slide out of its pocket (it is not locked into the stock radio bracket like it should be. Also, volume knob is gone (typical crap)
4. Brand New AFE Air filter is uninstalled. Will be the new owner's responsibility to install it as with the new Air Intake Tubing and Routing had to come a new filter and some finagling to install it.
5. Horn was deleted. Wiring still there off the harness, but was deleted.
6. A couple of dash lights on (Check Engine ( I will get this scanned for owner), Check Control (this is intermittent and only comes on sometimes) and Airbag Light (has been on for years even prior to last owner)
7. Strut tower is set up to accept a bar, it just needs to be purchased (if you happen to want to make the car tighter around corners.
8. Car rides nice and stiff. Not the most enjoyable daily driver, but extremely fun if you are not petty about silly things like awesome suspensions.
9. A/C is not blowing ice cold. I plan on recharging, but in the case it does not work, it must be noted for the new buyer.
10. Aftermarket Temperature Gauge is not wired in properly, so it spits out a default reading (petty, I know), but stock engine temp gauge in the cluster works perfectly fine.
11. Headliner has gave way due to aging. I have a spare headliner panel. I can include this at no extra cost to the buyer. If the buyer feels like paying the money for the materials, I can have a new black headliner foam installed onto it and that way you can pop old one out and swap it directly with the new one.
12. Top of the engine missing two covers (see picture).
13. There is an exhaust leak. When the headers were installed, the pipes (different diameters) didn't mate up directly to existing exhaust and were welded to best of their ability and then later tried to seal with exhaust cement. The car is still louder than it should be due to the fact there is a leak in the system.
14. Foglights are there, but never used them (appear to be for looks only)
15. Brake cooling hoses... (this is simple 3'' piping that routes from intake vents of front bumper and routed through directly to mount on the brakes. This is forced cooling. Although some piping is there, it is not complete. 3'' piping and screw clamps will be needed to finish it off.
16. Air intake ducts (next to fog lights...) HAD 2 carbon fiber after market ducts there (for routing the brake cooling hosing), but one has gone missing under previous ownership, so there only exists one aftermarket. Start off fresh and new with some stock ones and call it a day!
17. Car runs a little rich thanks to the tune on the car and in rare cases when clutch is pressed in, the car will drop to below idle mark and "stall". This has happened only a few times EVER, and needs a little better custom mapping eventually. The few times it has happened, you can literally start the car, clutch pressed in, and continue moving. This can never be duplicated...
