My name is Jeremy and I'm offering my 2003 BMW 525i Touring for sale.
Basics:
111,273 miles (8,500 miles per year)
Clear Texas title in my name (no lien)
Recent major service completed with OEM parts (see below)
5sp automatic transmission
Heated seats and steering wheel
Always garage kept
I purchased the car in December 2014 from a dealer that specializes in European vehicles. I am the 3rd owner, with the 1st owning it for 3 ½ years and the 2nd owner for almost 8 years . Miles are very low for this year model, averaging 8,500/year. I have decided to sell the E39 since I will no longer have garage space for it after my upcoming move. During my short ownership I have invested over $3500 to ensure the car is in solid mechanical shape and it should be ready for another 100k miles.
Exterior
The Sterling Gray paint is in good condition, showing signs of use as would be expected with age and mileage such as minor rock chips, etc. Areas of note include rock chips on the front bumper and a few on the hood (road trip to Abilene+repaved road), paint touch-ups done prior to my ownership on the rear bumper, as well as a small dent behind the left rear door. The dent was recently acquired in a grocery store parking lot, caused by an unknown party. The body is straight aside for the noted dent and something I was particular about when I purchased the wagon. I imagine the dent could be easily addressed with PDR as there are no creases. The windshield does have 2 minor stone chips incurred during a road trip to Palo Duro Canyon, however these do not affect visibility or the integrity of the glass. All glass is original OEM BMW.
Overall though, the paint shines nicely and lends a classy, yet understated look. All photos were taken this week and represent the true condition of the BMW; I have not edited them in any way. I would give the exterior condition a 7.5 of 10 since I am picky.
Interior
The interior is in great condition. All carpeting is clean and free of stains. I am including a set of BMW OEM floor mats that I purchased new upon delivery of the wagon. The seats do not have any tears or stains and the leather shows no cracks or real signs of wear—hard to come by when not properly conditioned and maintained. Power seats function properly. The rear cargo area also presents well and the cargo cover/mesh gate also functions properly. Leather surfaces have been conditioned regularly, as well as all plastic surfaces cared for with 303 Aerospace Protectant. Rear seat is a split/fold design and includes the optional ski pass-thru with ski bag.
The wood trim piece over the CD slot does have one minor heat crack, as does the shift trim; all other wood trim presents very well with no signs of wear, cracks, or discoloration. Most everyone who rides in the wagon comments on its cleanliness; it really is just short of immaculate. Both front cupholders function as they should. The only other item of note is a volume knob that has abnormal wear. I'm unsure how it occurred, however it operates flawlessly as does the entire stock audio system. Automatic dual-zone A/C works great, cooling to uncomfortable levels if you prefer. Everything works perfectly- lights, cruise control, factory CD player, power windows & locks, and the power moonroof with retractable shade. Overall, 9 of 10 for the interior.
Mechanical
As stated, all major service under my care has been performed with OEM BMW parts. This includes:
99,997 miles
Replaced 4 tires—Yokohama YK580 (Discount Tire w/ road-hazard certificates)
100,500 miles
Battery replacement (OEM BMW $266)
105,410 miles
Remove and replace oil pan gasket
Remove and replace valve cover gaskets
Inspection II service (spark plugs, air/cabin/engine filters, oil change, brake fluid replacement)
Exhaust leak repair (old/broken studs removed & replaced, as well as exhaust gaskets)
Power steering hoses and reservoir replaced, new fluid installed and system bled
110,100 miles
Replaced all 4 oxygen sensors ($200/each for OEM BMW parts—will not fail after 50k as the cheaper Bosch items do)
110,220 miles
Oil change w/ OEM filter and 5w-30 oil
110,665 miles
Repaired bad connector for air injection pumps
I have receipts for all work and/or parts listed above. Aside from the oxygen sensor replacement and a recent oil change performed by me, all other work was completed by a well-respected BMW mechanic known both locally and on several BMW forums. I will be happy to put you in contact with him as needed (his E46 M3 is race-prepped and tracked at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX).
BMW vehicles are known for their reliability and this example is no exception. You should have zero issues driving the car for another 100k miles with routine maintenance. Before deciding to sell the car, my only other plans were to replace the worn struts (Koni makes a great part), fixing a washer fluid leak ($10 in parts & 30min of time which I never got around to), and to have the ABS module rebuilt (common issue, $250 cost). I have not received any warning lights associated with the ABS module since the major service at 105,410 miles, however I am being transparent to ensure a positive experience for the potential buyer. I can put you in contact with my mechanic to schedule this service after purchase if you prefer to take preventative measures, as he is honest and charges a very reasonable rate (less than half what a dealer would charge).
Misc.
The car is equipped with special order BMW wheels (I forget the number) and includes a matching, full-size spare. Factory manuals and all receipts/paperwork during my ownership will be included. The prior seller provided only 1 key, but it works flawlessly without issue.
After purchase of the BMW, I acquired a Subaru WRX wagon because I longed for a manual transmission again. As such, I put very few miles on the BMW afterward and now only drive it a few miles once a week to keep it healthy. Texas registration and inspection lapsed in December, but I did not update these knowing that I would be selling the wagon soon. If the buyer resides in TX, I will have inspection updated prior to the sale; there are no fines/back fees associated with the registration.

I am an automotive enthusiast and have bought/sold 8 different personal cars and motorcycles through eBay over the past 6 years. I am not a dealer or someone who 'flips' vehicles. I have had some unfortunate encounters with dishonest sellers in the past, so I go out of my way to be as transparent as possible. Please see my feedback and bid confidently. The initial bid price is very fair considering the condition and maintenance history of my BMW, yet still almost 1/3 of my investment. If you have any questions, please let me know.
