1999 Buick Regal GS Description

1999 Beautiful Buick Regal GS with Super Charged 3.8L V6. These cars are sought after by aficionados because it is the ultimate sleeper car. If one changes the supercharger pulley the engine can output approximately 300 HP and almost instantaneous torque without expensive modifications. The 3.8L engine was the last V-6 engine produced by GM which had both a cast iron block and a cast iron head. The legendary engine is known for extreme longevity. This version of the engine has a reinforced block with a Super Charger which gives amazing torque and instant power at lower RPMs. It is the fastest car we have ever owned, and it still looks and drives excellent.

These cars have a dedicated following at www.RegalGS.org and other websites. I would encourage anyone interested in a Regal GS to go to that site before purchasing one or any GM or Chevy Car with the 3800 Series 2 Super Charged Engine. There is also agreat article on this version of the Regal GS at: http://dustrunnersauto.com/buick-regal-gs/.

We have owned this car for over thirteen years. It was a business lease return and had approximately 43,150 miles on it when we got it.We found out through the free Carfax on eBaythat someone else put a couple thousand miles on it between the time the business leased it and we bought it from the dealership. My wife used it for commuting to Seattle and Mercer Island. It is a top of the line luxury car. It came with every option available from Buick except for heated seats. The pictures do not do it justice, it is still an absolutely beautiful car!!!

It has the super charged 3.8L V6 with 4 speed automatic transmission with a switch for performance shifting, traction control, cruise control, Gransport Performance Suspension, dual climate control, vanity lights, leather interior, AM/FM/CD/Tape +CD Changer in the trunk - Monsoon stereo system. One of our friends said it sounded so good that the car was like a set of headphones on wheels. It also has auto dimming mirrors, vanity lights, power seats, power mirrors, airbags, beautiful chromed alloy wheels, etc. etc... You get the picture; the car is loaded.

The hood has a spot in the middle where there is a sag in the paint. The neighbor's cat got in our garage and knocked a saw that was in the rafters down on the hood. I purchased a new hood and repaintedit off the car with expensive paint from an automotive paint store, but it sagged. The paint was over $100; I have always meant try to polish it out or justsand it off and give it another try, but have never gotten around to it because it does not look that bad as you can see in the pictures.

It currently has 229,700 miles, but weare continuing todrive it daily so the mileage is increasing. A mechanic friend did an inspection recently and said the engine and transmission were in excellent shape. Something he attributed to regular fluid changes and the fact that my wife did not push the car very hard. My wife was very fussy about the car; it got regular maintenance and was always kept clean inside and out.It was leaking a small amount of oil and coolant. I replaced the lower intake manifold gasket, a bunch of other gaskets, O-rings and tubing. If you live somewhere within acouple hundredmiles of the Seattle Tacoma area we would be glad to let you take it for a test drive. We might even be able to meet you half way because we love driving it and will miss it when it goes to its new home. You are certainly welcome to inspect it or have a mechanic come and inspect it before completing the sale. The $500 paypal deposit will be refunded if an inspection is completed within a week and you decide you do not want it.

I uploaded video of it idling which can be found at https://youtu.be/7YWJsx8A5ec
