1972 Cadillac Eldorado Description

We have to let go of our dream car. We bought this convertible about 8 years ago as a 2nd owner. All was working fine at that time. My husband then decided to put in a rebuilt engine from a classic car restoration shop for about 5,000. About six months later the starter went out. My husband and brother bought the parts but the project never really got off the ground. This car has been in our carport for about 8 years and hasn't been driven for about 2 years. One good thing about the climate in Arizona...it is dry so the only evident rust is a patch or two in the drunk where rainwater was trapped. The body is solid. A bad thing about the Desert Southwest...the top dried out, the tires are flat, and some of the rubber trim should be replaced. The leather seats are toast but the cushions are still good so would support new interior choices well.

Before the starter went out the car was very reliable and we all enjoyed taking it for a spin. This car is a perfect project car if you want to finish the starter repair, repaint the body, replace the interior and top and possibly the tires. We arecleaning it up as I type, gettingout some leaves and dust. The engine is great and the body is great. My husband has taken it on the highway "over 100 mph easy". This beast was built before the Oil Embargo...not a gas sipper but a head turner!
