Beautiful 2000 C5 Chevrolet Corvette

Beautiful 2000 C5 Corvette in a rare Navy Blue Metallic exterior with beige leather interior. This vette has been adult owned. Just so you know, I am a 55 year old PhD and a professor at a major research institution. I have owned easily 25 cars in my time, some quite nice ones, but I can honestly say that this girl was my absolute favorite. I have had the privilege of owning this very special car for three years now and have loved every minute with her.

Mechanically she is perfect to the last detail. Everything works and works flawlessly. She is tight, solid, and a joy to drive. The prior owner added a Billy Boat (B&B) bullet exhaust system, which made her likely the finest sounding C5 there has ever been. I have turned heads at local car shows when I start her up. Although the exhaust can be very loud, she purrs like a kitten at a highway speeds and can be quite tame at slower speeds.

Since I purchased her I splurged on many aesthetic upgrades to the mechanics, exterior, and the interior to make her a show worthy car. She has won awards at local Corvette shows so my efforts paid off.

The paint is in excellent condition. Not perfect, as she is driven occasionally, but fantastic for a 16-year-old car. In fact, people cannot believe how old she is when I tell them her age. The color is the best Chevy created. The Navy Blue Metallic is deep and vibrant with a slight chameleon quality that can appear slightly purple in the right light. I have included pictures in different seasons and times of the day so you can see how different she can look. Just beautiful.

For the exterior I added several tasteful details including a hide-away front license plate and license fill plate to give her a very clean look up front. I also added chrome grill inserts in the cowls. I purchased new Michelin run flat tires for her in March 2015 and upgraded her rims to OEM Corvette C6 rims that had been custom powdercoated black inside and out. The new 18 and 19” tires and rims turned an already beautiful car into a complete jaw dropper. The tires also had the nice effect of making her quieter on the road and more comfortable. They were a huge improvement over the stock Eagles. These tires have about 5k miles on them…they are rated for 40,000 miles, so a lot of life left. Finally, I changed out the stock brake calipers to red ZR1’s and also added drilled/slotted rotors.

For the interior I have added a few billet and leather accessories to make an already attractive interior even nicer. For example, she has custom embroidered pads on the center console and both armrests for comfort. I have also changed the factory shift nob to a one-of-a-kind nob that is unbelievably comfortable to use. I added an IPod adaptor to the factory head unit for convenience. The pedals and dead pedal have had billet covers installed and upgraded floor mats and a rear cargo mat are included. I am a non-smoker and there are no smells/stains/tears or anything inside. An extremely clean interior.

The engine bay has received the most treatment. The engine is spotless. No drips/leaks/smudges. I likely spend as much time cleaning the engine as I do the rest of the car when I wash her! All of the chrome and painted parts are top end items and are either OEM or from reputable American custom parts manufacturing sources. No cheap Chinese imitations. I put the best items I could find on her. The painted parts were custom matched to her original GM color by RPI in Ohio.

I have included a list of the many items I have added to her and the exact price I paid so that you will know my level of commitment and investment in this car.

In addition I have diligently given her every maintenance she has required. Always synthetic oil and anything my mechanic thought she might need. I recently replenished the air conditioning and the Optima Red Top battery is only a year old.

She will come with two keys and two key fobs and all original owners manuals.

Honestly, she spends most of her days in my garage waxed and covered. When I drive her out she turns heads wherever we go. I have had people literally stop me on the road to ask about the exhaust system and I am constantly receiving calls of “beautiful car” or seeing thumbs up waved at me while on the road. She never ceases to make me feel quite special when I am driving her.

There is nothing to repair or to worry about with this Vette. You could drive her anywhere without hesitation or concern. She will show well in your local car show and you will be proud to enter her in a local Corvette parade. Most of all you can cruise around and just enjoy her. If you are lucky enough to buy her please know that I have treated her with great care.
