1998 Chevrolet Express Mark III 1500 LE Description

*. *

The van is 18 years old, but she has plenty of life left in 'er! We are just "retiring"her because we are going smaller. The upholstery on seatsis in good condition with minimal marks. All of the wood finish is intact. The power windows, side mirrors and locks work. The side mirrors have defrost andcanbe turnedin for tight spaces. The power front driver's seat and rear bench work...bench moves up and down. The middle captain's chairs are removable. All 7 seat belts work. The mood lighting and reading lamps work. TV and DVD work. It has working fog lights. There is a removablehitch for a trailer. There is a fanto deliver heat tothe rear passengers of the van. It has a working radio and relic...I mean cassette player:) There is an adapter that letus hook up our Galaxy S6 phones to the radio through the cassette player...if it fits your phone, you can have it. The cigarette lighter works(2 holes up front). The wipers and washer fluid work. It has all of the original cup holders and ashtrayinserts. The cruise controls works. For safety, it beeps when you back up. The tires have plenty of life left. It has a full size spare tire. The battery is only a couple of months old. It has never been in an accident and has been in the same family its whole life...father, then son. It has low mileage for its age(averaged about 6,880 miles a year), because it was basically used for dropping the kids off at schooland family tripsand vacations. It has 2 keys and keyfobs. It has beencleaned and washedand is ready for its new owner.

NOTE: The seats look two-tone in the pictures, but they are not. In person, the grays match up nicely.

Here's a list of the issues we know: The AC is not working because it has a leak somewhere. It worked when we filled it with Freon, but over time it all leaked out. More often than not, the steering gets stiff when first backing up and turning the wheel. The gas gauge does not work(not sure about the other small ones), but thespeedometerworks. One lightunder the radio needs to be replaced. The inside door panels on the driver and passenger sides areunattachedat the bottom, due to broken clips, but sit wherethey should. Not sure if the VCRworks, as we stopped using it after we gotthe DVD. When going up a very steep hill or mountain road, and giving ita surge ofgas, the check engine light will turn on. But that's only because one of the cylinders misfires. We had the code scanned at AutoZone every time it happened(going up acertain mountain in the Poconos, ata particularly steepspot)and that was always the issue...we learned not to gun it on themountain and it didn't do it anymore. The light goesoff soon after or AutoZone resets it for free. The van has dents and dings and scratches that are normal for a vehicle of its age. The pin-striping is not that great. The interior has markshere and there, mainly in the back where the luggage goes. The carpet has some stains. There is a smallpiece missing from the grill and hole in the bumper. The glove box latch snapped, so it will not close...we put a bag in it and used it for garbage. The brakes make a noise with sudden stops...might just be brake dust, but not sure. The clear coat on the roof is peeling. The roof is not metal, so it is not rusting, just losing the clear top coat. One rear sliding window lock needs to be fixed...the part isthere,we just don't want to take the risk of breaking the glass. The very back little storage compartment is missing the handle. That's about all we can think of at this moment, but that does not mean these are the only issues. Also, keep in mind, the pictures don't show all of the imperfections up close...come see it in person.

It's not perfect, but it offers comfort for the whole family...especially with the high-top. All in all, this is a good van for a good price. And nobody wants to pay $55,000 to$85,000 for a new one!

Please, feel free to come by and take a look and a test drive. Just contact me through messages and we'll setup a time. Mileage will be a little higher, depending on how many test drives are taken.
