1964 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport
1964 Chevrolet Impala Description
I am selling my 1964 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport coupe in near all original condition. The car was bought new in Alameda California. The guy I bought it from in 2010 claimed to be the nephew of the original owners who's original sales contract comes with the car. It appears they purchased it in 1965 so perhaps it was a left over, or a trade in, or a demo/loaner car. It was 50 plus years ago so who the hell knows. The point is this is a very nice car that still sports it's original interior and drive train and is nicely optioned with the 250 HP 327 V8, Powerglide transmission, power steering, powerbrakes and factory power windows (those are not repops in there). It also has factory AC.
Since owning the car I have added a restored instrument pad, an original 1964 Delco AM FM radio, and rear seat belts using an original set of belt. The drive train is believed to be original to the car and I have had the motor rebuilt approximately 4000 miles ago. I've also replaced the vacuum modulator on the Powerglide, exhaust system, and had the rear end re sealed. AC and heating have all been gone through and works fine. The power steering has also been serviced. The car runs and drives like new. It handles great and the original power drum brakes are some of the best non disc brakes I've ever had in a car. Please note that the car did leave CA and lived in Kansas with the guy I bought it from for a few years but it's been in CA most of it's life. The owner was living in CA when I bought it. I mention this because the original black plates to the car were lost after it left the state so what you see and get are YOM plates that I had assigned to the car while I've owned it. The floors are solid as is the trunk. It appears the car has never seen conditions that would cause body rot.
The body is in very good condition and not a Bondo bucket. Some of the trim has small dents, but no body dents. The carwas originally Silver Blue from the factory but I changed it to Daytona Blue. It does have a small scratch here and there but it presents very well from up close. The interior dash was also repainted to match the originalflat dark blue from the factory and the trunk was also repainted using a dark gray speckled trunk paint. The upholstery has never been replaced and is still in very nice condition. The headliner is in great shape but it starting to separate from the sail panel on the drivers side. I think this is a quick fix without having to replace the material. The is a small rip in the padded dash. The carpet is a little worn but again quite usable for years to come. It's not a trailer queen but it is a car that you can drive anywhere, enjoy at car shows and be proud to show. My only reason for selling the car is my car collection is winding down and I need money to complete a couple of projects I have and want to keep when completed.
This is a NO RESERVE auction. Car is being sold "AS IS/WHERE IS". Interested buyers are welcome to arrange to see the car if they wish before they bid. I'm willing to answer any questions so feel free to ask or request pics of specific areas and I will try to accommodate you before the auction ends. Winning bidder is responsible for arranging shipping if not picking the car up in person. Iunderstand that arranging transport can take some time and Ican work with the new owner to store the car safely until it's picked up-within reason. I also reserve the right to end the auction early if I am able to sell locally. Thanks for looking.
