MANY OF THE MAIN ELEMENTS OF THIS CAR ARE RESTORED FACTORY ORIGINAL OR OEM REPLACEMENTS.
This is about as good as it gets for the high performance Chevelle enthusiast, GM gear heads, or anyone that enjoys competitive street cars. The basis for this build was an immaculate 1969 Chevelle Super Sport, with mostly original body panels, glass, chrome, brightwork, and dash with tach and gauges. The original items still present indicate it was an original SS.
Yes, we know 1969 was the first year SS became an option instead of a series, and the only positive proof is factory paperwork. And we know that almost any SS option could be ordered on a non SS car. However, the indicators are present on this Chevelle, including original 12 bolt housing, boxed rear control arms, OEM factory disc brake system, placement of emblems on body panels, bright bezel trim, grille, original dash bezel and gauges, etc. Also, the blacked out shift pattern in the center bezel of the gauge cluster with bench seat and trans tunnel indicate this was a heavy duty three speed or four speed manual transmission car. This is only speculation based on observations. There is no factory paperwork to support this, although it is information to be considered in the history of the vehicle.
With the many original components in the vehicle, there is no reason to doubt it is a true Super Sport. However, the value of this Chevelle is based on the condition of the vehicle and the quality of the build, not if it is a SS or not. Again, there is no factory paperwork with this car.
The build and restoration was completed in 2006. Since that time, less than 10 miles a year on average have been logged. Enough mileage to keep everything lubricated, functioning properly, and exercised. Original mileage unknown. The remaining time has been spent in careful storage or trailering to various events. The best aftermarket parts available were used in this restoration. Although the car is highly modified, the paint, vinyl top, and interior are factory original codes as per trim tag.
This Chevelle is not for everyone. However, for the performance enthusiast, this is an excellent buy that can be enjoyed for many years to come.

Most classic cars are built for one function. Either a show car, street cruising car, or race car. It is somewhat rare to find one that is multi-functional, and can fill the bill in all three categories. This Chevelle is one of those cars.
