Model Overview
The Chevrolet Express Extended Passenger Van is a heavy-duty 3500 Series models, with the 3500 models carrying higher overall weight ratings. This is an extended (155-inch) wheelbase version, with seating space for 15 people. Also has towing is also a strength for the Express Van model, with trailer ratings ranging up to 9,900 pounds. Standard 6.0L V8 makes 324 hp and 373 lb-ft. Across the entire lineup, you get a 31-gallon fuel tank. A heavy-duty 6-speed automatic. The Express has true body-on-frame truck construction, with a ladder-type frame plus tubular cross members for better torsional stiffness and tapered frame rails for safety. It rides on an independent front suspension and rear leaf-spring suspension, with a stabilizer bar in front and a locking rear differential available on all models. And in all Express vans, 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with dynamic rear proportioning adapt to loads and provide secure stops. GM's StabiliTrak electronic stability control also helps provide safety and prevent skids in sudden maneuvers, while all models include driver and front passenger air bags. Each of the Express grades--1500, 2500 and 3500--is offered in LS and LT models.
