1997 Chevrolet Tahoe LT Description

1997 Tahoe recently purchased from a woman who bought it new. she recently decided to sell it as she hadn't been driving it for close to a year and would regularly let her son exercise it. I spent a great deal cleaning it up and there is a few areas that have some rust starting which is very common, but there are no holes. The bottoms of the doors were treated and painted and a set of Arizona rust free (perfect) rear barn doors were installed on the rear. The truck has only 69,000 miles and I believe it to be the lowest mile 2 door Tahoe or Yukon I've seen on here in awhile. The truck runs as you would expect, has ice cold a/c and all the power options and cruise work. rear bumper has some rust under the step hitch area and front one is nice. Interior is in real nice shape with the exception of a driver side seat back small burn mark. The truck was never smoked in though and nor did the previous owners. Truck has some dings and scrapes but do not deter from the overall clean look of it. Recent maintenance has included a new fuel line from front to rear and 4 new shocks. These are getting hard to come by and especially with at least half the miles of most that you see out there. I was recently informed that an auto check pops up as this vehicle having 160,000 miles! I spent the money to do a Carfax and that shows 168,000! Now in full disclosure...this is clearly a typo. The Carfax shows clearly the last emission test was 7-24-13 with 63,212 as the miles. As I stated before, the truck sat nearly a year due to the original owner not driving it much due to a brake repair she couldn't afford. I personally have driven past this vehicle since new. The next record shows 1-6-15 emission statement and it recorded 168,000 miles. I will guarantee the original owner did not drive 105,000 miles in only less than 16 months. I have contacted Carfax about this but I feel the emission station entered it wrong. just wanted to clear that up.

I am in the process of getting past service invoices from the only two local Chevrolet dealers in town who both had made incorrect mileage inputs. They clearly show a jump in 100,000 miles and in one case only 3 months after a previous record! There are some invoices sowing actual mileage in between and even the last oil change in 2014 still has a correct decal on the windshield. Original owner will attest to the mileage and the service writer at the original purchasing dealer knew her and the truck and even told me she didn't put on many miles. Goes to show that we need to double check when we take a car in for service as this leaves a trail.
