2010 Chevrolet Camaro INDY PACE CAR LIMITED EDITION Description

IF YOUR A TRUE CAMARO COLLECTOR READ THIS ENTIRE AD!!!

ONE OF THE MOST RARE CAMARO'S EVER PRODUCED. 2010 CHEVROLET CAMARO INDIANAPOLIS 500 PACE CAR LIMITED EDITION, PLANNED AND PRODUCED BY GM TO BE A COLLECTOR CAR RIGHT FROM THE START. *BUT THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT

(EASILY SHIPPED ANYWHERE IN THE USA)

The following is the exact press release from GM*: (please read this official GM press release, and note which engine and transmission the cars are all supposed to have.)

DETROIT -- For the first time since 1993, Chevrolet will build and sell a replica of a Camaro Indianapolis 500 Pace Car.

“We set out to build a collectible vehicle that will appeal to the die-hard Camaro and Indianapolis 500 fan,” said Jim Campbell, U.S. Vice President, Chevrolet Marketing. “We believe we’ve done just that with the 2010 Chevy Camaro Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Limited Edition.”

This limited edition replica includes all the features found on a top-of-the-line regular production Camaro SS, but adds some additional features unique to the actual pace car to be driven by Robin Roberts, anchor of “Good Morning America,” during the this year’s Indianapolis 500.

Based on a Camaro 2SS model with an RS appearance package, the replica includes the following content:

  • 400 hp 6.2L V-8 (* NOT THIS CAR)
  • Six-speed automatic transmission with remote start (*NOT THIS CAR)
  • 20-inch polished aluminum wheels
  • Full body White Pearl decal rally stripes
  • Inferno Orange heritage front grille
  • Inferno Orange engine cover
  • Premium floor mats with accent colors
  • 2010 Indianapolis 500 event logo decal on both doors and embroidered on driver and passenger headrests
  • 2010 Indianapolis 500 event logo badges on front fenders

Up to 200 pace car replicas will be made available through 187 of the top-selling Camaro dealers based on 2009 retail sales. The manufacturer suggested retail price of the replica is $41,950 (includes $850 Destination Freight Charge).

The 2010 Camaro Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Replica Limited Edition marks the fourth time Chevrolet has offered a Camaro pace car replica. Chevrolet also offered replicas of the pace cars in 1969, 1982 and 1993.

Pretty much all press coverage and google searches tell you and are disappointed about the car only coming in the 400HP l99 engine with the Automatic being the only option.

Many of the Media personalities not happy about the 400hp and only automatics, for example the 3rd example here from Jeremy Korzeniewski saying "(What, no Manual?)"

There was a total of 294 of the Pace cars built, 50 of them were festival Camaro's and were used to go around the track at the race, all Automatics, and they were numbered cars 1-50. There was 199 Unitsshipped to 187 (or 186 depends on what you read) ofthe top Camaro Chevrolet retails (only way it could be ordered was as an automatic with the 400Hp L99 engine). And only 45 shipped to be sold by Canadian dealers. This pace car was one of the lowest production pace cars ever with only 294 built, the festival car was supposed to be the most rare of them because of limited production of only 50. But the car listed here is the actual lowest production car by mistake because in Canada only, GM made a mistake and a few dealers (total not know by myself, but estimated at 5-10) tried to order the car with the LS3 426HP engine and the 6-speed manual transmission that the official car should have been. THIS IS ONE OF THE FEW CARS NOT SUPPOSED TO EXIST. In the USA if you were a dealer ordering this car you would have built it using the Z4Z pace car ordering package that automatically choose the L99 and the auto transmission. In Canada the Z4Z package didNOT include the engine and transmission for the first few orders and a few smart dealers got lucky! I have the build sheet to show. These cars were so rare and hard to get in the beginning that many of the dealers had to have a lottery for the collectorbuyers to enter, and could only have the right to buy the car if their name was drawn, and then how much over retail do you think many of these cars sold for? Im not sure either but you can count on many tens of thousands more than retail, and that was for the automatics!!! There has only been one other manual Pace car for sale in North America, ever!thiscar has less than 3200miles/5100 kms! its perfect in every way (other than one wheel with scuffs so small they barely show in a picture). You have seen how much very rare production Camaro's have gone for at Barrett Jackson. A super low production manual LS3 Pace Car that was an ordering mistakegoing through Barrett Jacksonwilleasily hit 6 digits in the not too far future.

Barrett Jackson only hires the best from around the country andtheir appraisers areawesome at what they do, but this car would be hard to put a number on for sure.

I would think that the Barrett Jackson appraisers have never even seen a2010 Pace Car with theManual and the LS3.The different engine code LS3 426HP engine and the Manual transmission are very tangible collector differences from the regular car, were not talking about minor differences like different wheels and a CD player vs a Cassette player.

If your a true Camaro collector, you probably don't have one of these, especially with the Manual LS3. Win the bid, it will be a sure original at a Camaro Car Show or gathering!

TO COMPARE HOW GOOD OF A VALUE THIS CAR IS LOOK AT THE ONE FOR SALE IN THE AUTABUY MAGAZINE OR ONLINE, THE USAOWNER IS ASKING $66,500. IT HAS 19,000 MILES ON IT AND IT IS ONLY THE L99 WITH THE AUTOMATIC, AGAIN THIS CAR IS THE MANUAL WITH THE LS 6.2AND HAS LESS THAN 3200 MILES.AND YES I WILL SELL IT FOR LESS THAN I HAVE THIS CAR LISTED FOR ON THAT SITE AND MAGAZINE ALSO.

if you have a legitimate question about the car don't hesitate to send me an email or text. troycm@shaw.ca or 403-892-8575. the instrument cluster in a 2010 Camaro is switched completely to Miles and USA Imperial with the touch of a button. As learnt from my last listing that sold in Alabama, all transport, title, and inspections can be all arranged through one of a few companies I have contact information for, no problem.
