1996 Chevrolet S-10 Description

This auction is for a rare 1996 S10 SS that I have had for a few years now. I don't really want to sell this but I have too many projects and not enough time. This truck has some cosmetic issues but is basically sound . It has a lot of extras and runs better than a V8, however there is a rattle in the top of the engine, noticeable when revved up. I don't think it is in the lower half not rods or anything but it does not miss, so I'm not sure what it could be. Look at the photos, I didn't bother to clean it up, you get what you see. Here is the history of the S10 SS. Production numbers in 1996 was 1240, lowest year of production. This is the only one I have ever seen. The mileage on this truck is 76,260. The title says 171,000 but that is Ky adding the extra 100. I'm not sure it isn't low mileage, I think it had the original tires when I got it. I think this is a good one to restore, you be the judge. Shipping maybe can be arranged, contact me Vin number: 1GCCS14W9T8181603 The Chevrolet S-10 SS was a high-performance version of the S-10, introduced in 1994. Fewer than 3000 SS's were produced yearly on average. When introduced, the SS was sold in only three colors: Onyx Black, Summit White, and Apple Red. The SS was discontinued in 1998. In 1999, it was replaced by the S-10 Xtreme. A 4.3-liter V6 (which was optional on regular S-10s) was the standard engine used in the SS version, producing between 180 and 200 hp (149 kW). The SS included lowered suspension (1996–98), cosmetic changes such as a different grille, body-colored bumpers, 16-inch wheels (1996–98, similar in design to the 1991/92 Camaro Z28 with bowtie center caps), and other sporty touches. All SS versions were regular cabs. A step-side version was available from 1996 to 1998. The SS option package was only available with an automatic transmission and 3.42 posi-traction rear-end.In 1994 and 1995, the SS came with 15" cast aluminum wheels, and chrome center caps and red bowties. SS badging and fog lamps were standard equipment as well. The rear-end was a 3.42 limited slip gear. In 1996 they received the upgraded ZQ8 suspension which now lowered the truck about 1.5 inches, had Bilstein shocks, fatter front and rear sway bars, in rear you had a anti hop shock that went from the axle to the frame, and a faster turning steering box.
