1977 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. Very solid car, 350 Automatic with A/C and tilt. Doesnt look like there has been any paint work done, so you know what your getting. Original California car with the automatic and bumper pads. I dont think its a matching numbers engine. Looks like a Tonawanda GM 350 crate engine with block casting 10066036. Im not an expert, I did a little research and thats what I came up with. Starts right up, runs, drives and stops good.
The body is very solid and straight, the paint is old and worn, thin in spots and a few chips and dings. Original graphics and stripes are faded and peeling. The only bad rust on the car seems to be the lower passenger side fender where leaves had collected and held in moisture, easy fix. Rockers, floors, trunk, doors, rear quarters are all really nice. Rear valance is really nice and the front lower valance seems to be in good condition. It is missing the 3-piece front air dam. Dash corners have no rust. All 4 original Z28 color matching wheels with older decent Goodyear tires.
The underside of this car is very clean, with very minimal surface rust in a few spots, all the frame rails are great. When the car was brought to Indiana and titled the previous owner checked the box that said the mileage was exempt, the odometer shows 43,XXX miles. From looking at the underside, I wouldnt doubt that to be true. That being said, Im not sure if the mileage is true at 43k, it might be 143K.
Lights all work, signals work, wipers, speedometer, temp, oil, fuel gauges all work. New heater core. Heres what I can remember that needs addressed. Windshiled is cracked, tach not working, clock not working, compressor/condensor missing from A/C. Dash pad isnt terrible but its coming up on the ends and is a little beat up. Driver seat has a few tears, drivers lower door was cut for a speaker. Looks like the previous owner was in the middle of installing a aftermarket stereo so there are some loose interior pieces, a couple A/C ducts taken out. Theres no glove box but I have a new replacement one, needs installed. I have a exra set of taillights and exhaust parts to run it out the rear like originally done. Transmission shifts hard/quick from 1-to-2, maybe a shift kit was installed at one time?
Overall, the car is realy solid and would make a easy restoration. Please remember it is a unrestored 39 year old car. Please ask any and all questions you have, I can also take additional photos if there is something you'd like to see.
