1998 Chevrolet K1500 Silverado Extended Cab Pickup 3-Door 5.7L
1998 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 Silverado Extended Cab Pickup 3-Door Description
Whether cruising down the highway, navigating city streets or driving down some backroads through the country, this truck will take you there. It gets a ton of attention due to the year and overall condition...You are viewing my 1998 Silverado Z71. This is a rare opportunity to be able to find this body style truck in this kind of condition and so well taken care of. It was bought new in Texas and spent all of its life there before it was shipped up here a couple of years ago. There is absolutely no rust or rot on the truck, NO typical Chevy truck cab corners, cab mounts, or rockers to replace. It retains all of the original body panels and paint shines and is in good condition except for some clear coat peeling on the hood and some minor dings/scratches. In the pictures, you can see above the front side windows, some double-stick tape that I forgot to remove, that was from the window vent shades, but I will remove that soon. The underside of the truck is also rust free and was painted a few years ago to preserve its condition. The bed is rhino - lined (should be re-done soon)and even has 4 heavy duty anchor points bolted through to the frame in case u want to haul/anchor anything heavier-ATVs, motorcycles, etc.The interior is on above average condition showing only some wear on the outer driver's seat, all others seats and carpet are nice. There is a JVC head unit with CD player and a Sirius satellite radio dock as well. Al power options, including the drivers seat and all dash gauges work as they should. A/C has also been charged. The truck has its original 5.7 (350) engine with 167K miles on it which runs flawlessly. If you know Chevy engines, these will run 250-300K and more with proper care. All maintenance from tune ups, to oil changes, etc were all religiously performed either before or on schedule.Plus, if you know Texas and it's long stretches of highways between towns, I can honestly say 75% of its mileage was on the highway. The transmission and 4x4 work flawlessly as well. The truck has never let me down.***Recent work includes: both side upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends, axle shafts, serpentine belt, tune up, battery, fuel pump, shocks, aluminum drive shaft, front brake pads/rotors, rear drums/shoes. LED reverse lights on both sides of hitch. The lift on the truck was done right. It is a 6" suspension and 3" body lift and is a few years old. It drives smooth down the highway with absolute no pulling or other issues, you don't even realize you are driving a lifted truck - especially since it rides on Toyo Open Country tires (35x12.50) It also has Fuel Octane wheels (20x12.50) with no spacers, that really give the truck it's aggressive look that sets it apart from others.I bought the truck to tow my military - themed 1969 Camaro that I've been driving across the country for the past 7 years promoting a charity for our wounded Veterans (check out warriorcamaro.org ) but I recently lost my job and need to put the funds toward other matters. I will, however, donate some of the money from the sale to the Disabled American Veteran's charity.Whoever gets the truck will no doubt be happy with it and will enjoy many years of ownership. Be prepared for alot of looks and compliments. Anyone can buy a new truck and make it look good, but seeing an older one in this condition is rare. See what else is out there and the miles they have on them and the condition they are in, as well as what they are still asking for them. The truck isn't flawless, but as you can see for its age presents above average and is mechanically perfect, it's been my daily driver...I've set a fair reserve on the truck.I also have a set of Westin step bars that have been Rhino-lined already and will be included in the sale. Fly in and drive it home! Thanks for viewing my truck and feel free ask any questions you may have. Good luck bidding.
