1970 Chevrolet Chevelle ss 396 Description

First off I would like to sa, I am not a deale, this is my personal car and Idrive this Chevelle SS to all the cruisenights and car shows in my area .This car is registered and insured by me. If you are a dealerand want a real Chevelle SS cheep just to fli, find another onethanks. Well I am selling my 1970 Chevelle SS only because I want to buy a 1969 Pontiac GTO . I have owned this Chevelle SS for many years andI Hate to let it go but GTOs are my favorite car and the one I have bean trying to get for years is for sale.

I will try to describe this car to the best of my ability but remembe, if you are a buyer do your homework and know what youbuying.I always encourage the buyer to look at and drive the car first.

This is a real 1970 Chevelle SS 396 350 hp car and I have the build sheet. This chevellehas oneof the lowestVIN numbers you will ever se, I suspect it wasone of the first 50 Chevelle SS cars made, thecar was made in October 3rd week and almost all the casting numbers are August 196, even the carb is made in September of 1969.

Now the goodstuff . This Chevelle SS came from the factory black cherry in color and a blackvinyl top and a turbo400 automatic transand 3;31 12 bolt rear.two seasons ago I turned the car into a 4-speed and changed the idiot light SS dash to gauges. ...........Keep reading ........I did the conversion the right wa, these two conversions cost me $5,900 because I did it the right way.

When I did the 4-speed conversion I only usedreal GM parts that where NOS or restored. The transmission is a 1970 Chevrolet Muncie M20 ( I think from a Corvette ) totally rebuilt . The clutch is new GM. The shifter is a newvery expensive Hurst with a special Muncie shift handle that is made for the Hurst shifte, I tried to use a real Muncie shifter but they are the worst shifters ever so I bought the Hurst kit fromGroundUp Chevelle parts. I took extreme care with the 4-speed conversion to do it just like GM did, everything works and is done 100% correct. The neutral safety switchworks so you have to push the clutch in to start the car, and the reverse lights work too. I even bought afully restored 1970 Chevelle 4-speed steering Colum ( the automatics are different than the 4-speed ones, I also took great care to make sure that ifmyself or someonewanted to return the car to original it could be done no problem. When I cut the floor for the shifter,I did a one piece perfect factory hole so the piece can be put backin very easily and NO cut wires, I bought all new wiring and everything just plugged in.Every single part that was removed was saved even the floorinsulationand yeseven the numbers matching transmission .

The dash gauges conversion from idiot light toclock and teach was easy . The new gauges are the only thing repo but I bought the best ones on the marketand you cant tell they are repo. Like the 4-speed conversion I bought a totally new dash wiringharness and a new front enginewiringharnes, no mickey mouse shortcuts on my Chevelle.

Now the engin, the engine was rebuilt years ago before I got the car,so is it numbers matching... I don't know, the block was decked to make it square so the code and vin are gone.Like I said before , the car is a very earlybuild (October 1969 ) and all the date codeson everythin, head, intak, car, transmission( Has VIN on it), 12 bolt rear all have a build date of August or September 1969. from what I see the date code for the block is April 25 1969, and the casting number is 395527, witch is 1969 396 2 or 4 bolt mains.I was told buy the Chevelle club this is a 4 bolt main because the block is drilled with bigger holes that are buy the oil filter and plugged, but to me that means nothing, I was also told by theChevelle club that they have see cars beforewhere the block casting date was much older than the heads or intake, so with that being said, I believe this is a numbers matching car do to the fact that every other majorthing on thiscar is original ( even the engine lift hook has a part number stamp (1970 cars only ).The fact is that without numbers, no one can prove its numbers matching so I am selling this caras NOT a numbers matching block but I THINK everything else is from carb to rear end but NOT the block and my reserveprice will reflect this too.Buyers do your homework. The only parts on this car that are missing that I can see are the original valve covers and the distributo, has an HEI distributor now.

The body and paintare awesome even standing right next to the car its better than ne, the color is 1970 ChevelleAstro blue with black stripes. From what I see the body has its original doors, trun, quarter, fender, hoodlooks like it is newer but I don't know. The owner before me said that he had the trunk floor replaced because of some pitting not because of rot. The vinyl roof is inperfact shape I was told it was original but who knows. This chevelle has the cleanest frame and floors I have ever seen with a carthat has not had a frame off restoration, they look like ne, no pitting and not even rust scales inside the fram, this car never had rust at al, you can't hide a car that was rust, even the rear-endhas no pitting at al, you have to see it to believe it.

The interio, not much to say her, itsas good as it gets and looks like newwithout being a concourse never driven car. This is a great car, Real S, never ruste, everything and I mean everything on this car work, even the key buzzer works ( I disconnected it because it was driving me nuts ) . The paint is 10 years old but looks like it was done last wee, sure there are some blemishes in the paint because I drive the car but you would have to look to find them. Thebumpers and all the bright workare great. This chevelle has absolutely no rust that I can see anywhere and never was ruste, all new suspension including bushings and springs, all new brakes, no cut wires at all not even under the dash no headers andhas a 2 and a half inch stainless dual exhaust withFlowmaster muffler, original Harrison 4 core radiato, custom auto sound radio that fits into the original dash that is digital and plays an mp3 player or iPod. This is the most reliable good looking real 1970 SS Chevelles you will find for the reserve price thatI'm asking and one look and drive and you will love this ca, this car can be driven anywhere for as long as you wan, never overheat, and the 4-speed shifts perfect and 100% everything works like it should on the car. Ienter my chevelle SS atthe Chevelle show every summer in my area and I win awards every year its that nice.Remember,I'm selling this car as a NON numbers matching block and the price will reflect that.. If you want a real 1970 SS Chevelle that needs absolutely nothing and looks totally factory correc, even all the plastic clips and clamps are just the way GM did it, just buy it and drive it for years ...this one is for you.
