1967 Chevrolet Chevelle malibu Description

One owner car. Really. I found this car and the story with it all matches up. Try to make it brief, but hard to. An 18 year old woman's Daddy bought this for her BRAND NEW at a Tampa, Fl. Chevrolet car dealer in 1966. She wanted a SS with a 4 speed and A/C, but none had A/C. So she bought this one instead. It is a factory A/C Chevelle Malibu and had a 4 speed transmission, bucket seats, console w/ clock, an AM radio, and rear mounted radio antenna. The reason I believe it was a 327 // 350 L79 engine is the guy's I got it from said it had an aluminum high rise intake manifold and Holley 4 barrel carburetor on it that was removed years ago by her brother who was just going to "borrow" it and eventually replace it back. That never happened, so what you see is what you get here. Pretty much the whole car except for the engine, transmission, and the hood is missing. The car sat out in the Florida sunshine for years before it was finally rescued and placed in the garage it is in now in Crystal River, Fl, about 75 miles north of Tampa.
pertinent information is as follows. By the VIN plate on the driver's side door A pillar, the car has it's original VIN and was made in Atlanta Georgia. I put the last 4 different characters in the VIN on ebay and will only disclose them to people I trust. I do have a clear Florida title that the original owner had a duplicate copy of made in 1984 (33 years old) and it was signed by her. She is still living I believe. Not sure, but I can possibly find out. Her name is still n the Florida title.
The trim tag on the firewall reads:
09E67-13617 ATL 4175TR 763-B E-E paintE 2ELGS -135540
This trim tag decodes as:
09E (Fifth week of September 1966) - one of the first 67 Chevelles made
67-13617 A 1967 Malibu 2 door Chevelle
ATL Atlanta Georgia assembly plant
TR 763-B Interior - Black in color, Imitation Black leather upholstery, and Bucket seats (B is for buckets, and A would have been a bench seat)
E-E is a solid color (top and bottom, no two tone paint job) of the color Deepwater Blue. The paint is still very evident under the trunk lid and in other places. And it was NOT a vinyl top car
E 2ELGS means "2" for following options: E is a factory A/C car (has air conditioning compressor from original engine in trunk and dash has a ll A/C controls, A/C vents on dash, etc.
"L" means it was a 4 Speed manual transmission car (Car still has it's clutch linkage, factory floor console, 4 speed shift pattern markings, etc.
"G" means a floor console (Like I said, it's got it and has it's original clock in it too).
"S" means it has a rear mounted radio antenna and it's there, but the wire top of the antenna is broken off.
The original bucket seats, back seat, and even the falling down headliner are in the car. Naturally, they will need recovering, but they are all there. The dash is all there and hasa couple of cracks. Not as bad as you would think. The only thing missing is the glove box button that I noticed. The original AM radio is in the car and knobs work, dial, buttons, etc. Visors still on car. Still has it's cigarette lighter.
The original steering wheel down to the horn button is on the car. A/C vents still in place like I said.
The door panels are still on the car, but worn as expected. All window cranks and door latches are there. Door locks actually still work.
The glass is all original and not cracked anywhere. The windshield does have marks from the wiper blades, but I rubbed one with my fingers and it started coming off. So windshield may clean up just fine.
there is a lot of surface rust on this car and on it's frame and pretty much everywhere, but you can see from the pictures, very straight and an excellent candidate for a full body restoration or fix up and driver (maybe even for parts, but that would be a shame). Very rare 327 4 speed 67 Chevelle. They made FAR fewer of these 327 4 speeds this year than SS big blocks. And people that knew wanted these small blocks over the big blocks in many cases.
i am one to doubt some stuff, but from what I herd and can see, I certainly believe this car had the rare L79 327 - 350 rated HP small block engine from the factory (same engine they put in the same year Corvette and rated at 375 HP). They had lesser 327s this year, but they did NOT come with 4 speeds for the most part and the center floor console, etc. Rare car. They made far fewer of these than the SS big block cars.
NOTE BASED ON ANOTHER EBAYER, THIS CAR MAY HAVE CAME WITH A 283 BECAUSE OF THE FLAGS ON THE FRONT FENDERS! I HAVE NOTHING TO GO ON OTHER THAN THE WORD OF THE GUY I GOT IT FROM WHO SWEARS IT HAD A 327 WITH ALUMINUM INTAKE MANIFOLD AND HOLLEY 4 BARREL CARB ON IT WHEN NEW. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE 327 / 350 HP ENGINE. THAT IS ALL I KNOW. THANK YOU.
Note: At right price, 4 American Racing 14" mags (and they are either 7 or 8 inch wide, haven't measured them yet) will be included in sale. They may even be mounted and on car soon. Just have to change tires and get lug nuts. The car has it's original wheels on it, but the hub caps are wrong on it. It originally came with "dog dish" style hubcaps. Original wheels will be included regardless. In next couple of days, I hope to get the car out and cleaned up some and will be able to take better pictures. This car will clean up much better when I do that. On the trunk picture, it's dark, but the Deepwater Blue paint is good in that area. Also in the other trunk picture it's dark, but you can hopefully see the original A/C unit and the alternator, fan blade and pulley, and the original radiator beneath them all.
I believe I've got it priced reasonable, but all offers will be considered. The car will have to be towed from Crystal River Florida where it is and can stay inside for the new owner to have it removed. Please keep in mind I will work with you in whatever reasonable way to keep it out of the elements and exactly like it is now. Also please do best you can on getting it towed in a timely manner. I'm easy to work with, please ask.
Thank you. I'm sure I missed several things, so ask any and all questions.
Like I forgot to mention it has it's original drum brakes all around (this was the first year disc brakes available in front I believe, but this is a drum brake car. I also do not think this car had power brakes as no brake booster is behind the master cylinder, and I do not see a power steering pump in the trunk. the trunk does have the (7 blade I think) cooling fan with it's pulley, etc., the original alternator, and the original radiator in the trunk. Also like I said the original A/C compressor with ALL it's brackets, etc. is in the trunk. Also the rear window trim is in the trunk. This car will need rust repaired in various places, but I'm telling it and showing it like it is. Please see pictures and judge for yourself.
Also has it's original drive shaft and transmission's cross member. Cross member still in position under car, driveshaft is in the trunk.
This is a good find to the right person. If I was younger and had more time, I'd do it, but cannot.
I also reserve the right to end this auction for whatever reason at any time.
I also claim everything here stated to be to the best of my knowledge, but I may have something incorrect, but I seriously doubt it. Again, no warranty or accurateness is guaranteed, please ask any and all questions so you know what it is you want.
All sales final. As is where is. A $500 deposit through Paypal is immediately required. The balance due within 3 days and cash only or a cashier's check that clears my bank before the car is picked up. No exceptions. Please only serious bidders or buyers. This add costs me money, so no joking or clowning around.
Ebay message me for my contact info if you'd like. My cell phone is 540-247-8460 but I do not always answer it and there is no voice mail setup on it, sorry, but I don't want calls at 3AM waking me up.
