1997 Chevrolet Lumina -- Description
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina with just 72k original miles. I would rate the exterior of this Lumina to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking sedan. It is finished in Dark Jade, which looks good. The finish has a nice shine for it's age and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific vehicle, the worst I can say is that there are a few dents on the RF door. Otherwise, just scratches here and there as you'd expect on a vehicle of this age. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. All of the body trim and cladding is present and shows well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory wheel covers are all present and show well. Tire tread is average all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. I would rate the interior of this Lumina to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. In general, I would say that the interior could use a cleaning. It's not overly worn or abused...just a few stains and normal soiling from age. The door cards are tight. The carpets are thick and full looking throughout the interior. The velour seats are comfortable and show no unusual wear. The dash and headliner are clean, too. The interior is pretty basic. Everything looks to be working properly. The stereo is original and sounds good. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. It's too cold to tell whether or not the air conditioner is working properly but the heater works. The interior is roomy and accommodating, as it the trunk. Again, nothing fancy...but the miles are good and everything seems to be working. Mechanically, this Lumina appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 3.1L V6 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older car. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps normal temperature and feels strong. Other than an ABS light, there have been no idiot lights on during my road test. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts normally with no issues. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with no complaints. This Lumina is a fresh trade from a local GM dealership and has a current PA safety and emissions inspection good through the end of August, 2017. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
