1949 Chevrolet Other Pickups Description

Drive this truck anywhere, best in show winner out of over 600 cars the first time out and places in every show it's been in. Starting with an older frame off restoration of a solid truck. the front suspension was upgraded to a lowered Camaro subframe with power steering and disc brakes. The rear suspension has been left stock but lowered and the rear end replaced with a GM 12 bolt axle for durability. The interior was recently upgraded with custom coverings including sound and heat shield. a new headliner. door panels and custom carpeting. The steering column has been upgraded to an Ididit tilt unit with vintage looking steering wheel. The custom center console houses a custom Lokar nostalgic shifter. A traditional looking Custom Auto Sound stereo supplies the tunes, including digital device input. A brand new Vintage Air unit keeps the inside heated, cooled or defrosted with hidden vents and controls to keep that old school look. The guages are new along with a completely new wiring harness throughout the truck. The patina'd exterior has just the right amount of chips. scratches. and blemishes to pull off that perfect rat rod look but runs and drives like a high end hot rod. The truck sports a faux finished new Fulton visor and fake spotlights on each pillar. The hand painted door signage and pinstriping throughout add to the old school era correct look that makes this truck a hit wherever it goes! The bed floor is Pennsylvania ash. Exterior brake and parking lights have been upgraded to LED's. The heart and soul of this truck lies beneath the louvered hood! A professionally built 350 Chevy small block putting out 450 hp attached to a GM turbo 350 transmission was installed in the most sanitary fashion. The motor screams old school with its three professionally built duece carbs and finned valve covers. An aluminum radiator and electric fan keep this beast running cool in any situation. No expense was spared in the building of this motor and believe me. it runs as good as it looks. This truck is not your typical "thrown together to sell on ebay rat rod" so please pay close attention to the pictures and details listed for this truck. PLEASE READ: As of yesterday I took a ride at dusk and there is a problem with the headlights and running lights and I will not get a chance to fix it. It all works find until I take it out on the road and the fuse blows, only when moving. I'm sure this is a short in the wiring somewhere and ordinarily I'd stop the auction but since there are two days left and there are bids under the reserve I'll leave it. I will offer to reimburse for any reasonable amount it takes to fix the problem if the truck does sell. ANOTHER NOTE: I cannot stress the value of inspection the truck in person. This is a 1949 vehicle, one that I am reasonably sure has no material defects because I have found and fixed everything that may have been an issue. Old cars get issues, mostly small so be prepared to fix little things from time to time. In the year I've had this truck I realized that nobody had really driven it since the last motor rebuild etc and I fixed the following: 1) Starter was wrong and too hot, fixed by smaller gear reduction starter. 2) GM rear end installed (good) but installed badly, my mechanic redid that. 3) Roller rockers adjusted correctly. 4) Carbs tuned. 5) Starter rewired to avoid excess header heat. 6) Fan rewired for same reason. I've been driving this and having a blast and haven't had to fix anything for over 6 months. If I wasn't itching to have a flathead model A I'd be keeping this and as with other cars I've let go in the past, there will be a day I'll be sorry :)
