1956 Chevrolet Other Pickups Description

I acquired this 1956 Chevy 3200 in 2001. The 3200 boasts a slightly longer wheelbase than the 3100 but is still a half ton. The guy I worked for at the time gave it to me with the understanding I'd get it back on the road in the condition it was in when his father acquired it. He has since passed away. This vehicle was used a farm truck for years, hauling hay and cows in east Texas.
I started its restoration in 2009 by pulling the body off and disassembling the engine. My brother and I sandblasted the frame, painted it chassis black, installed new KYB shocks, rebuilt the brakes including wheel cylinders and master cylinder rebuild. Rebuilt the 265 to stock specs and painted it Chevrolet Orange. It retains the original oil bath intake and non-pcv smog tube set-up. The 3-speed column shift transmission got a new clutch upon mating the engine back up.
The project then sat for several years after my brother passed away. In the past couple of years I finished the metal work on the cab (cab corners, door bottoms, and one entry step). All the steel other than what I just mentioned is original. It got a few coats of Cardinal Red acrylic enamel single stage paint (I don't have a shop so I had to paint it outside. It looks good from a few feet away but when you get up close you can make out the effects of mother nature in the paint. See the last 3 pictures for example.) I couldn't track paint codes for interior, so I custom mixed a matte black and a medium gray to my estimation of Charcoal and Marble Gray. Original bench seat upholstered last week. New front windshield this week. New window seals, felts, channels, door weatherstripping etc. New sun visor installed on original visor shaft. New glovebox. New tires. The new bedwood is a pine kit from Mar-K with stainless strips and hardware. I finished it dark, but not quite black as it would have been from the factory.
The truck (including engine) since rebuilding has less than 50 miles on it. It drives about how you'd expect a 60 year old truck to drive. It is all original. So NO power steering, NO power brakes, No power anything for that matter. No turn signals, No safety belts. Still has original generator rather than alternator. As far as I can tell it's got the original radiator and heater core (leak-tested). I installed new fuel sending unit and gauge but still can't get an accurate reading from the tank.
This truck is what I'd consider a "20-footer". It looks great from 20 feet away but when you get up close to inspect it, you'll see the imperfections in the paint and dings in the metal etc. This used to be a farm truck, and I rebuilt it as a nice original farm truck, NOT a show truck. NADA and Hemmings value a 20-footer, or "Average Retail for Good Condition" at $19k. The Buy-It-Now is below that, and includes FREE Trailered Shipping within a 500 miles radius of Tyler TX. I will deliver beyond that for an additional 75 cents per mile. Estimated shipping fees to be paid via PayPal within 72 hours of auction end, unless of course you have your own transportation lined up. FYI, the Reserve is below the Haggerty estimated value of $13,800 for a truck like this in "Good" condition.
Non-refundable $500 deposit via PayPal required within 24 hours of winning the auction. Full payment must be made in cash no more than 7 days after the end of the auction. Please contact Brian through e-Bay, or via e-mail at uttbrianmb@gmail.com, or via text/call (8am-7pm CST) at 903.279.6178. I have sold a car on eBay before, so bid with confidence. Do Not bid if you do not have the cash. Do Not bid if your plan is to look at the truck After winning the auction to decide if you really want it. If you win the auction, you buy the truck. Contact me with questions or if you would like to receive specific pictures or videos of the truck.
Thanks for looking, and happy bidding!

On Mar-28-17 at 08:32:26 PDT, seller added the following information:

-New windshield & seal being installed Wed, Mar 29.
-I picked up some O.E. BowTie hubcaps that I'll get painted to include with truck. The guy at the swap meet told me they're for a '56 but I think they're for a '57. Regardless, they come with truck.
-Truck comes with factory assembly manual and owners manual.
-Don't hesitate to e-mail/call/text me about the truck or shipping options. My contact info is given in the listing.
-The truck is also listed locally. The first cash offer I received was for $12k and I declined, though that is near my Reserve.

On Mar-29-17 at 09:36:49 PDT, seller added the following information:

-I got the fuel gauge working. It was simply a bad connection.
-Now that I've been driving it around a bit to break in the motor (will be adjusting the rockers this week, as well as changing the oil and transmission fluid), I'm quite pleased with how little it vibrates or rattles inside at road speed, even on rough county roads. Brakes work quite well for 4-wheel drum. It's a good solid truck! All the lights work, and I installed new horn button contact in the steering wheel. New wiper blades as well.
