2003 Corvette Z06 Fully Prepped Race Car
2003 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Coupe 2-Door Description
For sale, a 2003 Corvette Z06 ('Leona') fully prepped and sorted race car. Please review the pictures in detail located in my Flickr Album. The link is below.
I've owned this car since 2006 when it was a stock Z06. I've either built or had built all of its race components. The cage was built by Phoenix Performance in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. She's been setup by Kurt "the magician" Ommensetter of County Corvette in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Leona is a very well sorted and balanced car. She's fast, sounds awesome and can hold her own. At VIR she's run 2:04's flat and can surely make it well below that in the right hands. And she stops very well with the Stoptechs and Hawk 70 pads.
She has never been raced or been in involved in a major crash. Have only a couple of TT's with NASA. Mainly has been an HPDE car between 2011 and 2014. Not much activity in the last two years. She has an SCCA logbook as well.
Leona is also very clean in race car terms. There are marks of course, but I have taken very good care of this car. Oil, trans and diff fluids have been changed every 8 hours since track prepped using 0-50 Mobil One race oil, and mobil one fluids for the trans and diff. And the brake fluid has been regularyly flushed with Casterol SRF. She has been kept in a heated garage since I've owned her. this car has not been abused!
The only thing that I am aware of that is not working properly is the dash mounted transmission temp guage. It basically reads full hot all the time. I had to fabricate the temp sensor since the stock fittings were much larger than the 1/4 inch temp sensor. But it's not working correctly. For sure the transmission has never overheated including running in high 100 degree weather at VIR. In any event, I have the stock parts as well.
'Leona' is like a family member to me and I'm not necessarily all that keen on selling her. It will be hard actually. But, I'm reducing my material foot-print as it were; planning to move, and dumping a lot of money into a new business. Plus, I have discovered motorcycles. So, some things have to go.
Call or text me if you're interested. We can do a face-time look around if you'd like, or I can do a video tour. If you're local, come on by. I have a lift in the garage so you can take a detailed look.
Leona needs a good racer/DE home. Note that I understand as a buyer you'll want the best deal you can get. But I won't give this car away. So offer away if you like knowing that. I think my price is very reasonable for this car.
Will remove the decals though I assume you would want to keep the flames? I mean those are very cool!
Have basically all receipts and setup and dyno details. The last dyno was a bit hard to believe. She is putting out some power for a stock car. Over 400 at the wheels. I will email dyno and setup sheets on request.
I have the title as well.
