I know this one-lady-owned South Florida 2001 Chevrolet Suburban LT 4x4 very well: I bought it for my personal use a year ago, intending to pull a boat/trailer for local launching, but I sold the boat the week I got this truck. I liked it so much and it has been so reliable, comfortable and handy that I kept it around for a year. Took a road trip to Key West with 6 friends, back and forth to Lowe's, and just typical 'suburban' (pun intended) driving, putting a thousand miles or so on her over a year. My pickup truck has been feeling neglected, so it's time to part with this fine vehicle.
This is a one-owner South Florida vehicle (copy of AutoCheck in pictures). I have the title in hand. The previous owner was a lady in Wellington, FL in West Palm Beach. When I got the vehicle I had my mechanic go through it thoroughly: fluids all changed, new rear brakes were the only mechanical need. Everything works just like it should. Shows the constant care and proper maintenance that someone who buys new and keeps a vehicle for 15 years should. Much less than typical wear. Not new but very nice. I put the 4 new Goodyear Wrangler tires on when I had the services done, so they have only about a thousand miles on them.
Exterior: The Light Pewter Metallic paint is nice and glossy, with a couple of minor scratches low and behind each rear wheel, very minor, please see detail pictures. The body has no surface or visiblerust and no significant dings. This is to be expected when you see a true South Florida vehicle (not true with Snowbird cars). All glass is nice, no cracks, all trim is in place. The big barn rear doors making loading easy. Good looking truck with the factory alloys, running boards and all stock, unmolested appearance. No 'garage queen', but very straight and attractive for herage.
Interior: A nice clean leather interior with all the options. Power seats both driver and passenger (seat surfaces renewed at some point), dual control front-and-rear air conditioning (blows icy cold even on hot South Florida summer days). Carpets, headliner, door surfaces, are all in acceptable and original condition. All power windows, all door locks, power mirrors, cruise control, vanity lights, etc... all appear to operate properly. Faults: The thin carpet back of the removable 3rd bench seat has some tears from cargo loads( see picture for detail). The dash has the typical Chevy 'heat crack' ( see detail picture) under the dash mat. The leather steering wheel has some normal ring wear from the lady who previously owned it. The stereo works, CD player works (cassette untested), but is missing a knob. Time for an upgraded stereo. Headliner is fine. Smells fresh and clean inside, no evidence of smoking.
Mechanical: As I noted above, this truck runs and drives great with zero known mechanical faults. The Vortec 5.3 liter V-0* starts easily, no smoke, no fluid leaks, no 'check' lights. The transmissions shifts seamlessly. The exhaust is quiet and leak free. The 4 wheel drive works properly, engaging in 4 low, and and other drive positions as it should. I note that this Suburban is optioned with the limited slip rear differential so this is a super capable all-wheel-drive platform good for any weather anywhere. I have not used the trailer hitch, but it is stout arrangement, befitting the Chevy truck undercarriage. The Suburban drives down the road quietly and with little effort, stable at highway speeds, no drive-line whine, smooth, vibration and shimmy free to-speed on the new Goodyear tires. Brakes, as I reported, are all up to snuff with new rears, has a little over 1,000 miles on since last fluids service. All lights interior and exterior work. All power options including power windows, central locking, power seats, cruise control, air conditioning fans and controls all appear to operate properly. Ready to hop in and drive anywhere.
