2000 Chevrolet Blazer LS ZR2 with 200,000 miles on it. Runs great, burns no oil. 4 speed automatic transmission. I bought this a little over 2 years ago from the valley for my son to go back and forth to school in. Along the way I have spent a ton of money to make sure it was a safe ride for him. I bought this because you have to "drive" it and you can't be playing with a cellphone or stuffing your face. It worked well and he learned to drive and now he is off to college with a new vehicle so this one is ready to go. Since he got a scholarship and I don't have to pay for his school, I'm going to buy a new car so with sadness I will say goodbye to the ZR2.
PROS: Never, ever left him stranded. Starts every time. Its a ZR2 which means a factory boxed frame, factory 3 inch lift, factory 3.9 inch wider track, Heavy Duty ring and pinion gears, 3.73:1 gears front and rear, G80 limited slip locker in rear, 46mm gas pressurized Bilstein Monotube shocks, Skid plates, 4-wheel disc brakes, heavy duty wheel and axle bearings, and fender flares. All of these parts were replaced within the last 18,000 miles as we bought the vehicle with 182,000 and it has 200,000 on it now.
CONS:
check engine light is on and has been on since I bought it. Code comes back as misfire so that's why I changed the plugs, plug wires, coil, and O2 sensors. The next step on the repair flow-chart was a cam position sensor which I have but never installed because the truck never sounded like it misfired to me.
Service 4WD light is on. Went to the dealership and they specified a diaphragm was needing to be replaced. They wanted $800 for the part so I said no but I found the same part at Advanced Auto Parts for less than $200. I didn't buy it because we went to the beach once and it did fine without 4WD.
Needs upper ball joints replaced and an alignment, it pulls to the right. I have the upper ball joints (MOOG) and a local shop quoted me $180 to replace and of course you will need another alignment after replacing these which runs $89 at the dealership.
dings and scratches in the paint on doors and hood
needs door pin kit on both doors, I have one kit somewhere that I'll include
crack in windshield
rear hatch opens with the dash button but you need a stick to hold it open until you can walk around and lift the glass.
small rust hole in front of L/R tire, see pics.
A/C blower fan works on setting 1, 2, 3 but not 4. not sure if it is the blower or switch. Both cost $32 dollars at Advanced Auto Parts. I didn't replace it because setting 1-3 are fine for me as it blows 40-50 degrees cold and will freeze you out.
Overall, this is a great first car, daily driver, or fishing vehicle. It has been a daily driver 2.5 miles one way to his school for 2 years. We have went out of town to Matagorda and Port Lavaca fishing and I drove it several times from Victoria to Rockport for work. Set the cruise on 75 and relax. The stereo is nice and it has Alpine dash speakers, Alpine Door speakers with separate Alpine tweeters, and 6x9 speakers in the rear, not sure which brand but its an 8 speaker sound system and is wired for an amp and subs in the rear.
The rims are ION 15x8 alloys that are offset and give the vehicle an even wider stance over the factory 3' wider stance that ZR2s have over regular s10 blazers and trucks. As a result, the front tires will rub if you lock the steering wheel out but that is about the last inch of travel in the steering wheel. I have the torsion bars torqued up about an inch to give it that "look" we wanted but these can be torqued down with a ratchet and socket in about 2 minutes.
No rips or tears in the interior seats front or rear.
I have extra parts that will go with it: MOOG upper ball joints, transmission filter kit with Castrol transmission fluid, BWD cam position sensor, downstream O2 sensor, and some mini-fog lights I was going to mount on the rear tire carrier for backing up. Will throw in an old Kenwood 2 channel amp so you'll just need a box for extra bass.
Search for a ZR2 blazer and compare prices out there. You may find one cheaper but it won't have the maintenance performed that we have on this one. If I can find all of the receipts, I believe they total over $7000 or $8000 dollars. I wanted to make sure my son was going to be safe and spared no cost.
If I can't get what I want I will trade it in at the dealership as I am getting a new vehicle. I am probably missing some parts and other maintenance performed and will try to find receipts and update.

This is a 17 year old truck with 200,000 miles on it, not a new $55,000 truck. That being said, for the price of a set of after market rims and tires for a modern truck you can have a ZR2 that turns heads everywhere you go and will never leave you stranded. People love this truck, it looks like an RC truck. I had a cowl induction hood I was going to put on it to finish off the look but it got damaged and was scrapped, but man, that woulda set it off. You will drive by $50,000 diesel trucks, lifted trucks, etc. and they will stare at this truck. It is just a cool little ride.
Just inspected and registered in May, tags good until 5/2018. Clear, clean Texas Blue title in hand. Cash sale no trades. I do not need help selling this vehicle and no scammers.
