You are looking at a rare truck. I have owned this truck since 2008. I purchased it from the original owner with 55,000 original miles. It was truly a grandpa truck when I got it. At the time I purchased the truck it had never been driven in the winter, it still has not been driven in the winter to this day. It is stored from March to October every year. I have very mixed emotions about selling this truck. I bought a newer one so I thought I'd try and sell this one, honestly if it doesn't sell I am going to put it in storage. The truck is used as a weekend vehicle and to tow my boat or open car trailer.
1998 Chevy Silverado K2500 Extended cab Short bed, C6P heavy duty chassis package, Vortec 454, automatic, truck has all factory options except leather and keyless entry. This truck IS a 2 door as ALL 88-98 2500 and 3500 extended cab trucks were. This truck is always this clean not just "polished" for ebay. Fly in and drive home.
I will breakdown the details in stages.
Current miles are 93,400 miles.
Exterior:100% original paint, never wrecked, never been touched up. The paint shows zero signs of the typical paint peel. Color matched factory fender flares. Color matched window ventvisors. Truxedo LOPRO QT tonneau cover. Factory GM towing package. Tinted windows. ANZO clear corners in grille, PIAA low and high beam lights. GM bumper valance. Factory Tow hooks chrome plated.
Interior:100% original cloth interior and carpet. The seats, carpet, headliner show zero signs of wear. Never smoked in. NO pets. Honestly the interior still smells new. I installed a high dollar Kenwood DVD stereo system. It is 100% plug and play with zero hackary or chop. Interior lighting has been all changed to LED lighting....amazing result. Heat works excellent and air conditioning blows ice cold.
Engine:Original 454 with 93,400 original miles. The following maintenance has been performed on the truck. With that said each and every component replaced is either ACDELCO or Genuine General Motors. As follows: Intake manifold gaskets, oil cooler lines, water pump, injectors, cap, rotor, plugs and wires. ACDELCO factory dual batteries.
Chassis/Suspension:The original owner had the truck undercoated when it was new.....I am not a fan of it but it was done when I bought it. The truck has an RCD 4" suspension lift with bilstein shocks and steering stabilizer. The lift was installed 6000 miles ago. At the time the lift was installed I replaced the following items with ACDELCO parts: idler arm, idler arm bracket, pitman arm, inner and outer tierods, wheel bearings, brakes front and rear. I also had the gears changed from 3.73 gears to 4.10 gears to compensate for the larger tires. Rear suspension has Firestone Ride-Rite airbags. Wheels are 16x8 Weld Super Singles on LT285/75R16 BFGOODRICH All-Terrain KO2.
If you are looking for a truly amazing "OBS" Chevy truck this is it. I am sure I am missing something. I don't feel you could buy and build this truck for what I am asking. If you want a beater work truck keep looking. If you want a 98 chevy truck that is cleaner than most newer trucks than here you go.
