Evolve Motors and Chicago Car Club are pleased to present this 1977 Chevrolet Corvette! We picked up this '77 Corvette from a local gentleman who had been using it as a summer driver for the last few years but eventually decided that he didn't use the car enough to justify storing it in the city. While the car is in pretty good shape, it does have a rebuilt title. We're not quite sure what happened; the car looks to be structurally in good shape, but there are a couple potential signs of prior damage. The body panel gap on the driver's side of the hood is different than on the passenger side, and there are some dents in the exhaust, possibly indicating that a previous owner had run over something significant. Exterior: Paint is fair - it has a good shine but isn't without its share of blemishes. Areas to be aware of include some paint cracking on the nose panel and bottom corners of the rear bumper, two decent sized chips on the passenger door, small chips over passenger wheel wells, and some visible paint run scattered about. Red is the car's original color (72L), and red leather is the car's original trim (722). Glass is all clear and crack-free, and doors open and close without a fuss. T-tops are easily removed and put back on. Wire wheels are in as-new condition, and tires are close to new. Interior: Red leather looks great against the red exterior. Seats are in quite good shape; there's a burst seam on the driver's side outer bolster, but it could very easily be fixed. Dash is in excellent shape, with no cracks or damage. All gauges are functional, as is the radio, fan, defrost, windows, wipers, and all lights and signals. R12 air conditioning does not blow cold. Red carpeting is in nice shape, and we have an old set of black Corvette floormats that will come with the car. Odometer reads 86,850, which we believe to be accurate based on conversations with the previous owner. Under the Hood / Underbody: The car retains its numbers-matching 220hp 350cid L-82 V8. The car fires right up without fail and drives well; though at parking lot speed there is a bit of a creaking noise from the rear end. This noise goes away above 5mph, but it is worth noting. Brakes work very well, and the car pulls hard through the gears with no hesitation or tendencies of concern. The underbody shows no signs of rust. Please take a good look through the pictures, as the car is documented in detail. Overall, this is a nice driver-level Corvette that can be enjoyed as-is. Due to the rebuilt title, the cost of entry is very doable; this is an easy, inexpensive way to get into a classic sports car.
