2004 Chevrolet Corvette Description

This fantastic 2004 Chevrolet Corvette is just the kind of gently used 'Vette you want for a hobby car. Fully documented, with reasonable mileage and only slight modifications, you can buy and drive it with confidence. And if you haven't experienced the revelation that is the C5, you're in for a very pleasant surprise. You don't see many Sebring Silver C5 Corvettes these days, but on the smooth curves of the fifth-generation Corvette, it emphasizes the sports car's lean, mean proportions. The Corvette DNA is instantly recognizable with the swoopy front end and folding headlights, and four taillights out back make it easy to spot from a distance. Factory paint made huge strides by 2004, and the finish on this C5 is as good as it gets, with a deep shine and very few signs of use, even in the usual locations behind the wheels and on the chin. Of course there are a few signs of use that are well in line with the car's age and mileage, but there's just no denying that someone has always treated this car like a cherished toy and not a daily driver. In fact, thanks to numerous wax sessions over the years, the finish is probably even better than new, so smooth that water beads and runs off on its own. You just don't get that from average paint. Tinted windows also help with the sinister look and gives the car a high-tech vibe. This Corvette carries the upgraded sport bucket seats, which were a notable improvement over the standard flat chairs. There are a few signs that the car has been driven and enjoyed, but there's no damage to the usual high-traffic areas like the driver's seat bolsters or door sills, and it looks like a much younger car. Custom-fitted floor mats surely contributed to the like-new appearance of the carpets, and the door panels don't even show an indentation where a driver's elbow may have rested during those summer nights when the LS1 was singing through the 6-speed manual gearbox. Loaded is the only way to describe this C5, which includes dual-zone climate controls, heads-up display, and memory package. The shifter isn't stock, but you'll really like the way it improves shifts feel to the rear-mounted transmission. Overhead, the removable top stows easily, latching securely in the trunk, which remains massive enough for a week-long road trip.Power comes from the legendary LS1, which was a massive upgrade over the previous generation small block. With all-aluminum construction, free-breathing heads, and an aggressive cam, it was both lightweight and powerful, delivering ZR-1 levels of performance without the ZR-1 price tag. The engine bay is clean, with all the factory equipment intact, including the stylish coil covers and revolutionary plastic intake manifold. There's a K&N cold air intake up front, which offers a small improvement in power and a big improvement in sound, which is also true of the Corsa stainless steel cat-back exhaust system. Underneath, it's still in good order, from the hydroformed frame rails to the balsa wood floors, all of which give the C5 a rigid, yet lightweight platform and rides shockingly well for a car with such high levels of performance. Four-wheel discs with ABS and traction control hide behind stylish Cray alloy wheels with upgraded 245/40/18 front and 285/35/19 rear Michelin Pilot radials. The C5 is a no-compromises performance car, and with a top that comes off, it becomes the ultimate summertime fun machine.
