I have a truck that my brothre inlaw used at his wrecker service, it has agreat interiour and decent body so I thought it would make a good project for myself. I started by taking the truck part and replaced the cab mounts with energy suspention (eurathanemounts) with the cab back on the frame I fixed the saggie door hinges (new bushings they work perfectly) then started assembling it back up.The truck has a new rebuilt motor 305I used all fel pro gaskets and bearings it has a new cam lifters, timing chain, oil pump, water pump, alt, belts hoses, I also used the TBI intake. I ungraded the chip in the factoery computer so all the electronics work perfectly (no check engine lights) it has a pertronix ignition module and MSD blaster 2 coil and wires. It gets 20+ mpg and is super dependable with the TBI no coldstart issues. I do have a carb and intake for it if your not interested in the TBI that I can let go with it.It has newPatriot headers and Y-pipe connected to the factory exhaust (it would benifit a lot from a larger exhaust) but works great with the factory system. The truck runs strong and has way more power than this truck needs to get it down the road!! The trans was rebuilt by a local shop and has a 10,000 mile complete replacement warrenty (both have just over 5,000 mil on them) It has newU-joint and carrier bearing in the drive shaft.I decided to rebuild the braking sence the V8 is running so well the antilock system is removed and a complete new brake system was installed front to rear steel and rubber lines, calipers, wheel cylinders, pads and shoes. The truck has the 8.5 rearend in it so I treated it to new bearsing, fluid and seals. The front end was gone through replacing upper a frame bushings upper ball joints tie rods (inner and outter) ilder arm and pitman arms the lower ball joints seemd fine so I didnt see the need to change them. I have tons of reciepts and can verify all these statements easily. All the bulbs were replaced with new LED type bulbs so there very bright!! The tires are a size to big but they work and are in great condition..( they came off of my neighbors 4X4 S10) Its supposed to hav 205/75/15 these are 225/75/15 so the take off is slightly sluggish I put the tires and wheels off of my otherS10 on it and it really makes a differance probubly would get better mileage also. The title says 186,000 miles but this truck is essentually new other than the body work.
