Up for auction is my show-worthy 1995 Impala SS, repainted in 2016 by Auto Craft in Camarillo, CA in the original dark gray green metallic (DGGM), the rarest of the Impala SS's three colors. This car has never been hit, wrecked, or rusted in any way. I had big plans to swap an LQ9 6.0L LS motor into this Impala and take the car show world by storm, but my plans of changed and I've decided to consolidate my 5 vehicles into one, to make my wife's and I's move into our new home more manageable.
About my Impala. This is not your average 95 Impala! This car has perfect paint, it was repainted in the factory dark gray green metallic using the correct base coat/ clear coat process with only PPG products, and I would challenge anyone to find a nicer DGGM Impala anywhere in the country. The panels top and bottom are straight as mirrors, and the finish is nothing short of restoration-quality. As such, the luster of the paint is literally as good as new (or better). This Impala has consistently attracted crowds at the local cars and coffee, as it usually has the deepest, "wettest" finish of any car in attendance. This Impala has been a Southern California car since new and as such there is no rot whatsoever, and it goes without saying that it has never been smoked in. The interior smells neutral, with a hint of leather, the way an Impala did off the showroom floor.
Unlike many Impalas of this generation, this car is very mechanically sound. I am an ASE certified mechanic and any necessary repairs have been performed properly, using GM or AC Delco parts. The a/c is cold and the heater is hot. The steering is as tight as new, thanks to new Moog steering components, and the car drives straight and true-- you can steer the car with one finger over ruts and ridges in the road, without the car wandering. There are no leaks, the engine starts up immediately, the transmission shifts firmly. I would not hesitate for one moment to drive this car cross country. This car is absolutely not a garage queen Impala with flat spotted and dry rotted tires, sloppy steering, or lukewarm air conditioning like so many out there! This is a car that can be daily driven reliably, or kept as a show far. If you've been looking at 1994-1996 Impala's but have been nervous about what mechanical issues are lurking under their handsome appearance, this is a great car to consider as its extremely sound.
